I look at the bigger picture, we have been top before and done nothing, so being top of the league means nothing, its how you play, and we are playing like ****, showing the same problems that cost us before. How the **** can anyone be happy after that toothless display? How can anyone be happy after winning only 1 away game in our last 6, and that came against ****ty Aston Villa. We're top, but won't be for long if we continue like this, thats for sure.
Why? ..Because we played poorly today?? You realise City and United both lost 2-0 here? We have our two best players coming back. You cant tell me you don't think we will be markable better with Ozil and Sanchez back in the side. Our 1st choice defensive midfielder back in training. Oh and BTW we are still top of the league. There's more reasons to be optimistic.
Excuses excuses, We have best players out, but we have a squad don't we? If our B players aren't good enough, then they should be told to **** off and be replaced with world class players. So i don't care about injuries, it's not an excuse to play so toothless. The players on that pitch should have done much better, we're not playing ****ing Real Madrid. I don't care if City and United did **** here, that's always the worst response, how does that have any bearing on us? Aren't we supped to ****ing be better than them?!!!! If so, then we should be winning here, not saying oh those ****s lost, so its ok if we don't win either, champions never use such arguments, these are excuses for losers.
25 points from first 11 games. 19 points from second 11 games. We need to play better and pick more points up or we won't stay top.
They are a better side and harder to beat than you are assuming though. Don't act so entitled. Stoke is not an easy place to win. If you think it is you have no idea what you are talking about.
So what's your excuse for all the other away games? You keep pretending or trying to act like this was just one result, so i repeat, it's now 1 win in 6 away games, what the excuse for the other games? You will find an excuse for everything, like getting our asses kicked 4-0, failing to beat Norwich and West Brom, and you name it. Fact is, you have no idea what you're talking about, you're just trying to come up with excuses.
Missed Ozil big time but a draw was a good result against a though away team. Unfortunately for us we didn't have another creative player to step in, Cazorla being injured. But we battle on and maintain our momentum which matters!
1 win in 6 away games is not what I'd call 'momentum'. Plus we have now played 2, and drawn 2, so ummm any momentum we had is now gone, unless drawing 2 games in a row is gaining momentum? I thought momentum was based on winning, not drawing, and winning 1 in 6 away games?
Losing momentum is based more on losing. Drawing against a tough away team isn't bad, not ideal but not bad either. Bare in mind we are top and not losing, we can battle on another day. Not like Chelsea who have no chance...
I have mixed feelings about the result. Positives: a very difficult away fixture that has been troubling for us in the past and we've lost there more often than not. Considering they've beaten City, Chelsea and Man United at their ground, added to the fact that we missed our two most influential players going forward, a draw isn't a terrible result if you take it in isolation. And given the way the game went, Cech kept us in the match in that second half, so we can't complain too much. Negatives: After the late draw an Anfield, we needed to make up for it today with a win. It was never going to be easy, but it needed to be done. A draw doesn't help us out that much and we keep messing up the chances we have to pull away. There's 1 point that separates the top 3. Not ideal by any stretch. Not a great result, but if you're not going to win a game, at least don't lose it.
Just for the record, today's result continues our sequence of failing to win at Stoke, yes we didnt lose, but haven't won here since February 2010, so how on earth anyone can try and say its a positive, lol, is beyond me. Winning and getting all 3 points today would have been a positive and showing a real statement of intent, not failing to win for the 6th time in a row. And mind you, we have drawn 0-0 at the Brittania before, so I think some on here are just really really trying to clutch at straws and turn this draw into some magnificent valiant effort against Stoke.
Be more positive. Take into account that we missed Ozil, Sanchez and Cazorla and it may have been a different result. Once we get those guys back we should go on a good run.
I'm not pretending anything or making excuses. I'm thoroughly annoyed after todays performance (on the plus side I Peter Cech was ****ing great). But.. We are TOP of the league. And have managed to stay top despite missing Coquelin and Sanchez. (arguably our two most important players over the last 12 months). If we can come through this period still up there then we can win it. No doubt.
Disappointed not to win, but as a neutral you'd have to say it was a decent point for us in the end. It's a game that we would have lost in the past. Without several key players we still came through. Both Cech and Butland deserve credit for kepping that game scoreless.
I was more annoyed at not getting the three points against Liverpool tbh, two draws against them this season that could have been wins. Not that draws weren't fair results on the balance of play but the manner of the draws still irritates me. Today I had hoped we would win but a point isn't the end of the world, it keeps us top of the table heading into our game with Chelsea. I said in December it would be important to get as many points as we could as we would find January difficult and drop points. So I can't say I didn't expect us to drop points at some point while playing Liverpool, Stoke and Chelsea.
