    Well, nobody won a single bet last week so we're all down, which should come as no surprise. Still, it's early days and we all have an opportunity to put things right with this week's bets.

    @GRokerReport lost his acca due to Malaga's inability to beat Las Palmas, whilst saw his Alexis Sanchez bet refunded with the player failing to make the Arsenal match day squad. @FunkyPhallus' ambitious 100/1 shot failed to materialise, whilst @SAFCSourcewasn't close with either of his picks, as Angers defeated Caen whilst there were four (not six) goals in our game against Arsenal.

    @Jim_Holmes_101 lost out as Arsenal went on to win the game, with his half time/full time draw/Sunderland bet failing to pay out. @DjRoberts22, meanwhile, needed one more Arsenal goal for £25 but it never materialised.

    Week #1 Table:

    Pundit Last Week's Profit/Loss Current Balance
    @GRokerReport - £10 £30
    @SAFCsource - £3 £37
    @FunkyPhallus - £3 £37
    @Jim_Holmes_101 - £20 £20
    @DjRoberts22 - £10 £30

    Can we go one better and actually win something this week?

    @Jim_Holmes_101
    With a huge win at Swansea behind us we travel to White Hart Lane, with Spurs succumbing to a belligerent Leicester City side last night. Spurs have only won one of their last four at home, so this is a fixture Big Sam will be looking at perhaps with a ray of optimism. Regardless, we score on average 1.63 goals a game away, whilst we concede on average 2.73 goals per away game. My first bet is for there to be over 3.5 goals in the game, and £5 returns £13.12 with Bet365.

    My second bet is a Premier League treble. Draws for Bournemouth, City and Southampton. £2 returns £150.50 - that’d pay for a few post Spurs beers.

    Picks:

    Over 3.5 Goals in the Spurs v Sunderland game - 13/8 - £5

    Treble - Bournemouth vs Norwich,Man City vs Palace & Southampton vs WBA all draws -£2 returns £150.50

    @SAFCSource
    The away trip to Spurs is going to be a really difficult game, particularly coming so soon after the big game at Swansea. Although we may struggle to come away with at least a point, I do fancy Jermain Defoe to get the first goal of the game. You can get 12/1 on that happening at Boylesports, which is certainly worth a fiver.

    Elsewhere, Brighton find themselves in the Play-Off positions in the Championship thanks in part to being hard to beat away from home, where they have only lost one game. Despite that solitary loss, they have drawn 9 of 13 away games this season and find themselves up against Blackburn, who are hard to beat at home, but have drawn 7 out of 12 home games, which makes the 6/1 for a 1-1 draw an attractive prospect.

    Picks:

    Jermain Defoe to score the first goal of the game vs. Spurs: 12/1 - £5

    Blackburn vs Brighton correct score - 1-1: 6/1 - £2

    @FunkyPhallus
    I'm going for a Premier League treble first. I fancy Norwich to pick up an away win at Bournemouth. I think Southampton can take the points at home with tough game with WBA and I fancy Man City to see off Palace at home.

    As for us? I think we'll see improvement, and we'll start well, but over ninety minutes I just think Spurs will be too strong for us.

    Picks:

    Norwich 7/2, Southampton 8/11, Man City 4/11: 9.59/1 - £5

    Spurs to win from behind: 7/1 - £2

    @GRokerReport
    Jermain Defoe just can't stop scoring goals right now and, against his old team, he'll be right up for it. Betway are offering 7/2 for Wednesday's hattrick hero to score anytime and I feel it's worth a fiver, with the bet returning £22.50 should it win.

    Elsewhere, table-toppers Napoli are at home to over-achievers Sassuolo in the Serie A and, athough they're fairly low value at 2/7, they're almost certainly nailed on to win that game with the form they're in, particularly at home. Villereal have won six on the bounce in the Spanish top flight and face Real Betis, who have lost their last five in all competitions, so I'm adding them at 9/20. Huddersfield battered Charlton 5-0 on Tuesday and have hit a decent run of form, winning their last three home games. Lowly Fulham are their opponents this week and, at evens, I feel they're a steal. Five quid on that treble returns £18.64.

    Picks:

    Napoli, Villarreal & Huddersfield treble: 3.72/1 - £5

    Jermain Defoe to score anytime: 7/2 - £5

    @DJRoberts22
    For my Sunderland bet this week, I think I'll go for the half time result to be a draw, with Sunderland nicking a winner in the second half in an lethargic and tight early afternoon at White Hart Lane. With Sam Allardyce's tactics I'd imagine we will shape up to at least pick up a draw and with Jermain Defoe on form, we're always capable of nicking one on the break in the second half.

    Looking away from our game, I'm going to stick to the Premier League for my accumulator this week and back home wins for Bournemouth, Man City and Southampton, with Leicester picking up an away win against Aston Villa.

    Picks:

    Half Time/Full Time - Draw - Sunderland: 22/1 - £5

    Bournemouth, Man City, Southampton and Leicester all to win: 7.95/1 - £5

    I had to rush my picks, found much better bets afterwards.

    Spurs to win from behind: 7/1 - £2

    Unfortunately this is very much on.

    But if I don't win it's at least a point. Haway Lads! Lose me money!

    I'm leaving the Arsenal game alone, mate. I think they have only won once at Stoke, to close to call for me.

    Would have liked to dig a bit deeper but there was a queue for the football machine in Ladbrokes. I hate the pressure of queues.

    Fair play mate. The Porto games a big call with them having no manager, that's why I left them alone. Good luck though <ok>

    After the results during the week, I thought LVG would tighten things up and it would be a low scoring game...

    My score on the prediction thread probably says 5-4, now I've said that <doh>
