We probably saw neither the Arkle winner, Supreme winner nor Pertemps winner Ste. Possibly the RSA winner if Willie lets him run <laugh>

    ^^^ Pocket talking <laugh>

To be fair why would you want to go up against No More Heroes in an RSA? Black Herucles is a relentless galloper, I hope he goes to the race he can win (50% pocket talking lol)

Just so you know mate- I dont think anyone even thinks about where they come from. Top class animals are top class animals. Be it Denman and Kauto, Hurricane Fly or Vautour, Barracouda or Big Bucks. I dont know one person who has ever discussed the English/Irish Cheltenham debate with me- people always just want to back a winner. Is it different over your side of the water? (Out of interest).

You are spot on though- Mullins mopping up some Graded races over here with his reserves squad. His first string is something quite special. 3 horses this side of the water have caught my eye. Buveur Dair, More Of That, and Shantou Village.

The other one, that I'd consider outside fancy would be Vaniteux.

Not seen Ponts race yet but I am disappointed. Did he not lead today btw? I'm sure Mullins said theyd never hold him up again but when I read the report I think Sub Lieutenant was allowed to lead?

The Irish/English thing is good banter especially at Cheltenham but my wallet doesn't give a toss where a winner is trained.

My post ended <whosebiting> I thought that made it pretty evident to be fair lol It was always going to be stick, I know he likes the old English/Irish banter that accompanies Cheltenham. Certainly nothing to get on your high horse over <laugh>

But seriously I think the point is worthy of discussion, what Mullins COULD achieve is scary. Them 2 horses today won't even make the boat I'd be quite sure! Not a bad pair to have as back up. People mightn't like to accept it but he is going to win an awful lot of races over there.

Of out interest what Nicholls or Henderson horse would have won that today? And where would their 3rd string horses have came? Skelton's was seriously disappointing, but it's not his first recently to have run poor. I'm sure he's better than he showed today.

Both Nicholls and Henderson are lacking firepower this season, both seem to be struggling to get and keep their leading lights fit and both yards have jockey issues. Probably Walsh and Geraghty saw this coming and pissed off back to Ireland when they did.

Henderson's been having problems keeping his sound for too long Oddy. Not sure what his training regime involves but it's clearly not working at the minute <yikes>

Just a question stick. If the Irish Grade Ones are such easy pickings why don't we see Nicholls, Henderson, Twister etc come over and have a go at them?! Always wondered why that was? Mullins, Elliott, de Bromhead etc never have a problem taking on the English in their own back yard but the English trainers certainly don't seem up for heading over here. Nicholls was the only one who did, and he plundered plenty of Euros and nice prizes along the way with Neptune Collognes, Denman, Kauto etc What's holding them back from competing in them, as the prizemoney's very good over here. Genuine question.

Have to wonder that myself Beefy, the prize money in Ireland is decent especially on a Sunday-Are the English trainers afraid to take on Mullins and Co in their own back yard?Is only a spin across the water and alot of Irish trainers send raiders over the pond.

Lack of imagination I think beefy. From memory we have plundered the Lexus on several occasions, had a half hearted crack at the Irish National and only very recently discovered the existence of the Punchestown Festival.

I was in Ireland for the festival and told everyone I met that thistlecrack would win. Most of em had never heard of him or Colin tizzard. News travels quick round there and he was backed off the boards, the Irish races a pretty rough affairs and they done a job on Tom scudamore they wouldn't let him out, boxed him in. When he got out he flew but it was to late. The run in at punchestown is pretty short . If ruby had rode him he would have won imo

Pure folly to think the Irish graded races are weaker than the English ones when all the best 2mile hurdlers and 3m chasers are Irish.

No offence Florida but are you claiming you started a gamble on Thistlecrack on track?

Hotel porters road sweepers the Garda, barmen and there were many
And just about everyone in Dublin. My parents are from Dublin and know loads of people and even bang bang probably had a few euros from the grave. Oh I forgot bus drivers cab drivers, waiters post office workers, bank workers. Do you want me to go on.
