I have nothing against Shelvey because I don't know him personally but what is important to me is my club. I can remember a great through ball for Gomis to score but nothing else really stood out for me. Although I think his fitness had improved he still struggled to complete the 90 minutes. Those of us who go to the games could see his influence on games had declined and he was becoming more selfish.. Consequently, as long as the money is used to strengthen where we need it, the 12 million was good business.

 

Anyone seen the Video of Shelvey's off the ball incident today? Where he elbowed a west ham player in the face, once the FA see the footage he will be looking at a 3 to 5 match ban, and in his first game to.

It has been pretty clear for the last few weeks that Shelvey would be gone in this transfer window and so it has been-proved, but why did we sell to a relegation rival. For the first time since our first season in the premiership I fear relegation is looming. Our rivals have been busy on the transfer front strengthening their squads whereas we appear to be weakening ours. Shelvey has now gone, with a strong possibility that Tabanau and Eder will follow. This I feel is an inditement on our transfer policy of last summer with only Aywe commanding a regular slot in the squad. Most concerning though is the negative vibes eminating from Huw Jenkins regarding any incoming players, overpriced, unavailable etc etc. So why is it that other clubs are managing to do it? The weeks and games are ticking away fast invest now or face championship football next season.
