Darel Russell keeps saying, "they were tired after playing midweek"! What a pile of ****, there is NO excuse for that performance!
Naismith? Ok, but we barely threatened their goal, shipped 3, 9 in a week and were lucky to have our keeper on at the end. Crying out for quality centre back. Please!
It won't matter who we buy as a striker, we don't create chances for the ones we've got, and that my friends is solely down to our midfield.
Hardly surprising, possible targets are having second thoughts, I would too, if I was in their position. Said it before and I´ll say it again, we´d have a better chance if we aimed less high with our recruitment policy, we´d still get players who are better than some we have at the moment. I´m just hoping thät Klose doesn´t get cold feet too, now.
I think if you're bringing Dorrans on as an attacking sub then you know things aren't going well on the transfer front.
So how come Bournemouth players weren't tired??? At least they'll get a long rest after Liverpool, as we're no longer in the cup!!!! I really think it's time to leave Hoolahoops out of the starting 11, he seems to have either lost his edge, or teams have worked out how to nullify him.
The problem with the midfield is that we have to play with two DM's to help cover for the lack of quality in defence - it virtually sacrifices any creativity and thus we have to rely on an aging and inconsistent Wes for any creativity at all. Strengthening the defence could enable us to sacrifice one of the DM's for someone with a bit more creativity (not sure who that might be though )
Edit - Just read AN's post match summary and it seems the team were incapable of carrying out his instructions. I agree that now is not the time to 'panic buy', but something needs to be done to strengthen the defence, otherwise, we'll be going straight back down!!!! Our GD has taken a hammering in the last 2 games as well.
Today was a shocker but I'm optomistic that we will play better and pinch something against Liverpool. It's not all doom and gloom though. Sunderland got thrashed, we still currently sit 4 pts clear of yhe relegation places, ipsh#t have dropped out of the top 6, Villa are 1-0 down already! The next two ges are tough but we may still get something, b4 today we all thought it possible we could stay up with heat we've got. That's still true we've just made it a touch harder for ourselves. Villa on the 6th will be massive again, got figure out how to perform away again! Bah! P.s. I did not get to see today's debacle so whilst the scoreline is horrific I did not witness the full horror of it all! So that may slightly contribute to my ability to give some positivity!
True but also because of the limitations of the defensive midfielders we have- I think the whole spine of the team needs improving- I just hope we're in the pl to be able to do this next year as improvement will necessarily be a long and gradual process
Lots of teams play 4231. Don't see a problem with our midfield, just the attack and to a far greater extent the back line. Redmond and Olsson should come back into the team. Remember Liverpool have a soft back line took and really don't look much better than Stoke this season in general. Hopefully we can get ours sorted before then and be in with a chance.
Is Graham Dorrans better than Bradley Johnson? I don't think so, so many mistakes being made by my club despite so many being made in the past and no lessons learnt
Better on the ball but obviously less of physical presence and less goals. But why pick on Dorrans when he hardly ever gets in the team??
As soon as I saw the result I came on here to see how KIO would react. After feeling so proud this morning, seeing him tell an Everton fan that we are a good club and no getting relegated.
