I know you know :) I do hear what you're saying, it's more a comment to the Davis "no end product" naysayers. His intelligence today was there for all to see.

Course not, he'd have to admit he was wrong. I wouldn't hold your breath!

James Ward-Prowse should be good for 20 a year, if current trends continue.

Also, we deploy often goal-shy Tadic as a forward two games running and he suddenly shows a knack for scoring. Perhaps if we rotate players through that role, they'll all learn how to finish.

Definitely. And it has to be said that JWP finally showed he has some end product today as well. But Davis was absolutely everywhere, box to box, wing to wing, tireless and tenacious.

Nice thing is that the players now have found their way into this new formation and look very solid and the confidence is back. A new formation that RK brought in because the old one wasn't clicking. Took a couple of games, but Saints seem to be back.

He's also made two substitutions in the last two games that have resulted in goals almost straight away.

Massive, massive kudos and credit to our manager. We were all saying "time for him to step up", and it would seem, step up he has.

Great to see FLT, Vin and Dave before the game too.

When we were discussing the "rift" with the club over deviation from the "Southampton Way", did anyone suggest that maybe other systems might actually work better?

There was an awful lot of discussion about formations, but most of it revolved around how this one was supposedly negative and crap...

I didn't think we were as good as against Watford, but we were still good, and miles better than the opposition. Not too many comments now about 5-3-2 being an awful system.

I didn't think it was possible for Forster to have an easier game than against Watford. Turns out I was wrong.

Virgil was my MOTM, but Davis and Cedric were very good as well (as was Victor in the second half). And Long continues his good form. I don't see Austin or Pelle starting ahead of him or Mane against Utd.

That was like last season - never really felt nervous throughout the game. Great to see JWP finally scoring from set piece. Great to see the confidence that Forster brings seeping through the whole team. Everyone played well though Mane and Wanyama were good without being outstanding. I'm starting to feel that we have replacements ready for both roles now before we even get to the end of the season.

Ah come on all views welcome, we are all saints fans at the end of the day and we all see things differently.

However, this is titled the really really positive thread and so Tin tin hasn't bothered reading this one.

I'd love him to come back. A lot of what he posts does make sense and he has some very astute views. I'd also like him to come back and say "hey, perhaps I was wrong on that front. The new system seems to be gelling and perhaps I was a little hasty in my negativity towards Koeman. I'm glad, as a Saints fan, that I was wrong".

It really would do him the world of good.

1 shot on target against us in 180 minutes by the way. Now that's solid.

I suspect we'll have another little blip at some point, but I think it's worth remembering that especially this season, it's a whole playground of swings and roundabouts.

Look, you obviously don't have a clue about how threads work and if you had any understanding in that thick skull of yours, you would know that putting "positive " on a thread guarantees nothing. If only people would understand forums like I do then......

Oh, I'm sorry, don't know what came over me. I will come back in a couple of days with a small piece of perspective. Or something like that.;)

Well that's what I call a good start to the weekend. Went to Liverpool for 30 hours without Internet access and we buy a forward and win easily against a tricky team. Why wasn't I given a warning? I'm going to stay in the loop from now on. Who knew Liverpool was a dead zone internet wise? Calm down! I hear you say.
