2-0 up AGAIN away at Doncaster.....hit the bar and have 6 shots on target to 2 from Doncaster. Equaliser goes in at 88 minutes. JE will not be happy (neither am I) with Walsall and Burton winning. Too many points being thrown away when in a strong position. No comments about us doing really well this season please as these points will, I am sure, eventually cost us. :-(
A Donny player was injured and stretchered off, i believe from comments on twitter it looked like a nasty fall. In regards to the 2-2 and JE. He took Wright off again at a crucial time, exactly the same as he did for the Wigan game. Maybe JE's decision cost us, as again we immediately conceded, but i wasn't there so i will leave that for those that were and why Wright can not play the full 90. I want to put a positive on the result in that Donnelly scored twice. Which of course makes me happy considering my early season comments regarding a certain messiah.
These are circumstances that have cost us: 3 points v Wigan 3 points v Walsall 2 points v Peterborough 2 points v Shrewsbury 2 points v Doncaster 2 points v Colchester (missed penalty and an apparent squabble over who was going to take it) 14 points needlessly thrown away. The stuffings i.e. Coventry, Burton and the 2-0 defeat against Barnsley I can take as we were beaten by the opposition.....at present our greatest threat is from ourselves. Come on guys........beef up a bit.
Gio I seriously doubt that there were 10 points 'luckily' gained. . However 'luck' aside, this is something that has got to be sorted out. This will be a test of JE's on and off the pitch management as this kind of result (repeated) will haunt.
Sorry only 9 points 90th goal at Crewe gained 2points 90th goal v Scunthorpe 2 points draw home to Southend 1 point lucky home win to Colchester 2 points lucky home win to Rochdale 2 points
Lucky home win to Rochdale 2-0? Mmmmm Not wishing to get into spat....one expects one's team to keep trying until the very end at to that end the team makes its own 'luck'. However to keep throwing away wins or points from a strong position is neither luck or plain bad fortune...there is something more fundamental that is either wrong or 'not quite right' here.
I'm sorry Mr.Miller - I didn't realise you are a Premiership referee ! I got home from Doncaster just in time to watch MOTD. I witnessed some diabolical refereeing decisions in the featured games. There were offside goals (John Terry) and many incidents of handball ( or not as is the case ). As a bonus we were treated to a bit of all-in wrestling by Robert Huth - and you didn't need replays, because he did it more than once ( without punishment ). There were goalkeeping foul-ups - with at least one not getting a red card for 'taking out' a forward who was clearly in a goal -scoring position. ----- I've always been perplexed about the classification of a goal scoring 'position' - surely even a goal keeper is in such a position even from his own penalty area ? ----- anyway Having watched the 'elite' of English football ( I'm not talking about the players ) - it made me realise that the referee at Doncaster is good enough ( sorry, I meant bad enough ) to officiate a Premiership game next week. Mr. Miller awarded Gills just 2 free kicks for fouls. He 'gave' Doncaster 13 in reply -- although it seemed like 113. There were genuine fouls committed by the Gills players - but they certainly were not any more than those fouls committed by Doncaster. Every time there was any challenge for the ball, Gills were penalised. The fans were getting very animated towards the end of the game.l I genuinely feel that the referee spoilt the game - right from the beginning he had his whistle in his mouth - and I'm sure that, as his decisions became more absurd, it probably affected the Gills players' thoughts when making any form of challenge - too afraid to concede free kicks -- as was the case with Doncaster's first goal -- it was a 'nothing' challenge which the referee deemed a foul. The kick is well struck and the rest is history. I don't think the result was entirely down to an incompetent idiot with a whistle. For the 2nd match running things changed when Wright was taken off. We started to lose the challenges in the middle. I understand that he was injured at Wigan - but there was no need to sub him at Doncaster - and it made the team weaker than the referee. JE is doing a good job - but occasionally his substitutions have baffled me. As for Mr.Miller - he'll always be welcomed at the Keepmoat - as long as he remains the epitome of a 'home' referee.
The kick was well struck but had Nelson been better positioned it could have been saved, why did he cover the same side of the goal as the wall. Ok. let fly the Nelson lovers.
OMG....good job she don't frequent this board much these days, otherwise you my friend would get the wrath of beth LOL
