I wonder if the lad on here who was so incensed with Mahrez's "dive" on Wednesday is as annoyed at Rose's theatrics there.

Come on Poch, give Harry a rest. Keeping him on is madness.

Robbie Savage has given MOTM to Eriksen. Hmm... I think our back pairing's had a good game personally.

Seriously? Did you not think it was a penalty?

I'm going to state the bleeding obvious here and say that we look lot better when we score more than the opposition. Think we should look to use this tactic more often!

Didn't say that. The foul on Mahrez was a foul, but surely if he got annoyed at that then he'll be as annoyed at this.

Slightest touch and he's hit the deck like he's been shot.

No idea what you're on about tbh...Rose was kicked on his achilles (which hurts) ... can't see how you viewed that as him going down easily.

Trippier is really growing on me...I thought he was a decent squad player but he is actually a good first team starter

MOTM was the Sunderland goalie. Don't see too much difference in the tactics of Sunderland and Leicester except that Leicester are better at it.

Best GD in the league and that is a huge credit to the defence.

I think Poch has tackled the defence's problems from last season brilliantly. He has changed the face of the defence within a season and with very little personnel change. The single signing of Alderweireld has made a huge change - totally solid and, as we know from how much better everyone looked when Ledley played, that sort of solidity from one player somehow galvanises those around them. Jan looks much happier, unsurprisingly, than he did next to Chiriches or Fazio.

It seems like all the fullbacks are improved - the rotation has been ticking along nicely here. Trippier looks to be coming on so our options at RB are nearly as good as at LB. (And I almost wrote Rose of a few years ago).

But the other change that's altered everything is the absolute masterstroke of moving Dier to DM. It's changed everything and now it's hard to see how we're not massively weakened without him.

I think Poch has played a blinder with our defence. One very simple, highly effective signing that made sense in about 10 different ways and one superb decision about how to mould a very young, very capable player.

Another quick benefit that Poch has given us defensively is obviously the system. Never before watching Spurs have I appreciated a system of play more (which is not to say I think it's given us the best football). The ideas have obviously been communicated extremely well to the players and again, credit to the management for gathering a group of young, eager players willing to listen and learn. The way we are almost always doubling up on an opposition player within a couple of seconds is superb and obviously a huge part of the overall strategy.

Anyway I'll stop blathering on - we weren't even that good today! Though as soon as the game was open and stretched there was no question who was the more comfortable, dangerous team.

  16. A much needed 3pts, but the result was flattering in the end: not that Sunderland deserved anything from the game, but we were awful at times. He will get credits for 2 goals but Eriksen had another poor game overall and Lamela (for all his hard work) was a bit of a headless chicken. And why do we seems to have forgotten how to cross the ball!!! Trippier managed a couple of decent balls in from the right, but the corners and free kicks were almost all wasted - including that shambolic effort from which Sunderland should have scored on the break.

Defoe put in a good stint for them, but was so isolated that he never really got a sniff.

Not disputing that it's not a foul.

He's tapped on the foot and he's gone down like he's been shot. I reckon Leonardo Di Caprio might have a late challenger to his inevitable Oscar.

Watch the foot that gets tapped. It barely moved. If he took a full whack to that foot then you'd notice.

I'm sorry but you can't argue. He's barely been touched.
