Oxford boss Michael Appleton wanted by Bristol City after Steve Cotterill's sacking please log in to view this image Bristol City will target Oxford manager Michael Appleton as replacement for Steve Cotterill, who was sacked on Thursday, eight months after winning promotion. The 40-year-old who masterminded the League Two club’s FA Cup giant-killing act over Premier League Swansea is seen as the right man to guide the club away from the Championship relegation zone. He has rebuilt Oxford’s side since taking over in July of 2014, and as well as his Cup success has guided them into the League Two play-off zone. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/index.html
I should qualify that statement by adding that I am not one of those that dismisses lower league managers out of hand but this chaps record is hardly inspiring...
Bristol City Want Michael Appleton.. Why ? What's he ever done ? Seem to remember he lasted no time at Portsmouth or at Blackpool and was sacked by Blackburn ?
Which manager we end up with, and how money is made available will decide por moi on how rubbish or not our board is at directing Bristol City Football Club into the next 10 years. If they balls this up like they did Cotterill's career last summer, I think I may as well go support Manchester United
I not in SLs league financial wise, but if I was I would have no hesitation in bring NP in if he was interested. The right man with the right credentials. If BCFC want to go forward then now is the time to act.
City has never heard the word progression, Appleton is just another of many cheap options! I would rather keep what we have if I'm honest and wait for the right manager to come along..
