Agree that he owes us nothing, but the fans are owed for their loyalty and commitment to the club...especially those who pay week in and week out to go and see games. For that reason, I sure hope the management and chairman have already lined up a very good replacement or two so that Austin will be missed, but only a little.
The reality of all this is that the club should have sorted his contract out after the play-off final. We would never have been in that situation. More amateur dramatics from our inept owners. Only we could sign a striker, improve him and sell on for a loss. The club has totally ****ed this up. We'll not see a striker of Austin's calibre grace our pitch for quite some time I fear.
We took a gamble that holding on to Austin would see us challenging for at least a play off place. That gamble has failed miserably and with Austin gone perhaps we should be more worried about looking downwards.
All this 'I'm staying' was just the usual bullsh*t, Delph did similar at Villa with knobs on, when it comes to the crunch they don't give a toss for the fans...
Feel sick at this news. Totally inept business on the part of our board. To turn down £12m in the Summer and to sell him 6 months later for £4m is terrible business practice. I wish Charlie all the best. He is a great man to get a goal and I am sure he will be a success in the Prem. The rest of the season should be great fun after this news.
As far as I am aware the owners still think we should be pushing for promotion, or has there been another tweet? I think most on here are realistic, we just want to see signs of promise on the pitch. I really don't care how generous the owners have been with their cash, and how pure their intentions are. They are **** at owning a football club, they couldn't score in a brothel.
Players come and go I wish him well and hope he does well however he will have to improve his game. I remember the moans when we got HH but he is still a legend IMO and had a career that Austin can only dream about The club and the players knew he was off so the rubbish in the press is just rubbish. I wish the best to our current striker Polter who can be a new superstar why not We shouldn't care who puts on the shirt all we need to do is support the team. I can only think of one players have welcomed his departure and that was Barton not because of his avarage football but the damage he did to the club's image We go quiet now and preserve our league status at last we can get our fans together for a proper push in the next two years You wanted change so the time is to now support that
Not aware we actually turned down 12m for him in the summer......more a case of newspaper speculation if memory serves me right.....seem to recall that the club said no offers were received.....may be wrong off course.
The league is daft enough for anyone to go on a run and scrap in We are a championship side and club ... That's good enough for me If TF thinks we are ready to go again then he is crazy
my sons aged 5 and 6 think he's the business, no more stickers or posters which is kind of sad really....do I tell them he died or was sold
Do we know Southampton bid 12 million in summer. I think Newcastle did, not sure who else did. If so I expect it was by mutal agreement club/player that he did not move. He is on record as saying he is a "home" boy....He did not want to really move up north, to a medoicre club.... Southampton (or Bournemouth or a London club) were the clubs he was really looking for
Now all we need to do is sell a defender or two, my crap tong in cheek transfer thread would not be so far off the mark... Oh well good luck to Chas and thanks for the many goals!

Has he paid any tributes to QPR or the fans? He seems elated to be out of the place and that assurance on live TV that he was staying for the season was clearly bollocks! He clearly wasn't injured either.
