Aw, that's nice a positive to hear! I didn't think he was much of a ball player, but fingers crossed.
Pretty unfair comments just because he doesn't want to join you rather than stay and fight for his place at Everton or perhaps sign for a club closer to home with less risk of going down. He may even decide to sign in the next 2 weeks but I guess his card has already been marked by some ?.
As a recent newcomer, your views are always welcome; but some of the posts you've quoted above are only expressing what people feel about the 'on/off' saga re Naismith and I feel people are entitled to post what they want, especially when it seems we were all set to sign him and then for whatever reason, he changed his mind!!!
But surely the location of Liverpool, Glasgow & Norwich haven't changed. So why come and look around if that was the issue.
I'm not really against Naismith he's a good player and I can understand taking your time deciding whether to move 200 miles away. However I'm not convinced that he should be a priority, especially with Vadis now showing what he can do. We desperately need a CB and given all the rumours it seems like that is being worked on. We also really need another out and out striker, Haller would be great but seems less likely now. A new AM is really a nice to have not a must have.
As I said before Naismith is playing a smart game. Everton & us however appear to have performed poorly.
Good point Bath and I was always hoping the Vadis would get the chance to show his ability and he's certainly taken it 'with both hands'.. I agree that I would rather we invest the money we would have paid for Naismith on a quality CB. Still just over 2 weeks of the window to go and as we don't have a game on the 30th/31st, there will be more time for AN to spend on trying to add quality to the squad.
Look like Charlie Austin is off to Southampton for 4 million, I'd say that's about the right price for that player.
I suppose with his contract up in the summer QPR had to accept it or risk getting nothing for him. But in general it's the right amount for him, thinking maybe we should have tried to get him but then I don't know if he'd fit in our team.
Another that seems too good to be true, so don't hold your breaths lads: http://sport.bt.com/hargreaves-klose-would-be-a-terrific-signing-for-norwich-91364033983110?
Would not be a good signing for us, at £4M he is properly priced but coming from QPHarcelona he'd be on WCT size wages!
A little late there KIO. I posted the report in the Fail many hours ago. Supposedly undergoing a medical on Monday with a £7.7m fee agreed already.
Two more so far today for the goal machine that is....Gary Hooper. To go with his 2 in their last match - how much did we quote them for him again?
Naismith Agrees Norwich Move http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=430785 {the link is from the Scottish Sun so not exactly 'gospel' yet!}
No problem. Just hope the story is true, and with quotes about it from Jake Humphrey and Owen Hargreaves it would seem that it is.
Naismith is coming back for another look/chat having turned down Sunderland although they offered more salary than us and no relegation clause in the contract. Did I not mention a CB flown in from abroad as well?
Bring back Hooper and spend the money we have on a good CB and quality in CM/CAM. Tettey is awesome but he isnt the man to create chances for us. Id have taken a punt on Byram maybe (or a winger who can cross), played him RM in front of Pinto and played Vadis in the no. 10 role perhaps? Or even go in for Pritchard. Wes is one of my fave players ever but he cant play every game. Our issue is not our strikers... our issue is not getting them any chances! We have a beast up top at the moment but give him no service. We saw how good he can be against Villa with the right delivery!
