Rhodes for the last week of Sept. Will be my hat-trick greek island having previously been to Skiathos & Kos.

I think I am going to miss the Chesterfield at home match though.

Well, as a teacher...and married to a teacher I find this a fairly nice time of year. My 8 year old is attending the Charlton soccer school at Greenwich Park next week while my 5 year old will enjoy not having his brother around for a bit. Then ten days in the Dordogne. Lovely.

Very similar. I'd probably say Skiathos but may be because it was my first visit to the Greek Islands. The beach in Kos was better but Skiathos also has a lot of nice beaches as we went on a beach hopping cruise one day. Both places I visited was with the girlfriend, so good for couples. You may want somewhere livelier though if going with a group of lads.
Sorry but haven't really answered your question, more a sitting on the fence type of answer!

Although i can talk when my kids speak in a broad Japie accent ! - although they know their heritage, and my 6 year old very proudly goes to school in his Addicks shirt - and he is desperate to go to the Valley one day.

    Morning Everyone.

As I read this thread, I'm struck by how many of us are cutting back or not contemplating holidays this year because of financial constraints.

I'm very fortunate that I've had a holiday home in France for the last 20 years or else I wouldn't have been able to get away either. It's only 80 miles from the tunnel on the French side, so very accessible once you've crossed the water. At the moment, the place is pretty much vacant until the end of October and because of circumstances I won't bore you with will cost you less than a caravan at Hayling Island. :emoticon-0100-smile

I don't intend to post details of the property on open forum, as I think that would go against the spirit of what not606 is about but if anyone is interested in further information, please Private Message me with an e-mail address and I'll get details off to you.

I have sought permission for this and hope you don't think this is an inappropriate use of the forum.
