Let's not forget the trifle episode when she turned over two pages in the cook book so put a layer of mince in it. Joey still ate it. Then there was the turkey on the head
Like I said none made me laugh out loud. All those you mention were certainly entertaining bubble-gum TV but that's all. I think a lot of American formulaic sitcoms are like that. They have to go above and beyond the norm to actually make me burst out laughing. Friends never did. I think part of the problem is I've seen most of the gags before in other, previous american hit sitcoms.
I think the reason I got into both is bcos I tuned in to them with no prior knowledge of either and became immediately hooked and every episode kept me there. I cant consciously pick a series to start watching. Just doesnt work for me. Cant explain it
Saw Spectre tonight. I enjoyed it. Was supposed to be going to Star Wars but someone pulled out. Going on Monday instead now. Then I can read all your spoilers you lot wrote. #welluptodateme
What channel is Gotham on? Friends was certainly not very funny it was just something you chuckled along to and watched with the wife or girlfriend (or both). Still people asking about what to watch that haven't seen Hannibal. I've mentioned it before Girls is worth watching gets very funny as it goes on and isn't a girly thing as the title may suggest. Although it's not got great ratings I want to watch True Detective 2 but no sign off it on Sky.
Seen them up to the mid-season break already but saw someone mention it on here a couple of days ago.
I know this is slightly taboo, but I got drunk this week, on a weekday (the shame) and looked for shows from my childhood /teenage years and surprisingly found quite a few. Centurions, (cartoon) had the action figures, loved it. Knightmare - kids show, 4kids per team, one wears a horned helmet & has 3 mates guide him through a virtual maze. Top ****. Eirie indiana - like tales from the crypt but better. Round the twist "have u ever, ever felt like this... When strange things happen and ya goin around the twist (aussie kids show, lived in a lighthouse, odd stuff happened) I admittedly used to bash over the older sister (yep I think it's weird now too) Rodger ram jet. He's our man, (unless you're in jail) say no more Terror hawks - puppets like thunder birds but scary as **** back when I was under 10. Look like Shirley from East enders and/or grace from hottyoaks, (no typo) The munsters, great show, Mrs munster.. Yes I would. Even now. **** you & your judgement. Quantum leap, little did I know at the age of 9 that "ziggy" and me would be thunder buddy's for life (spliffs , I call spliffs ziggys.. get over it) Trapdoor, Trapdoor ffs! Play doh horror, epic (yes I said epic) Yeh anyway I found all them but never watched any, don't want to ruin the memory's
Late showing of The Revenant last night. First night of realease, nearly midnight, cinema was filled with dregs and heathens. Naturally, I was there. Anyway, the film... ridiculously good 9.9/10. Absolutely engrossed throughout. Great story. Great performances (as is standard) from Di Caprio and Hardy. Great cinematography. Go see it. Have some nachos.
I remember Terror Hawks. Used to creep me out so couldnt watch it. Programs from my childhood would be... 1) Pipkins with the black guy and Hartley Hare when I was about 5. 2) The Red Hand Gang. No, not the perils of trying to feel up a girl at the wrong time of the month. It was a top top american kids programme about a street gang of kids who would solve crime. 3) The Kids of Degrassi Street. The very original series in 80's not the spin-offs that followed. Magnificent programme. 4) Later on watched The Wonder Years. About the trials and tribulations of a young boy growing up in the late 60's retold by his older self. Great programme. 5) Lets Pretend. 6) Storyteller. A programme from some Eastern European place which dramatised a weird and wonderful folk tale every week. The thing I remember most is the theme tune... "I'm a story teller and my stories must be told...." That's the ones I can think of. Btw I liked Quantum Leap too but it was through my Uni days. Loved it.
Season 2 is no where near as good as season 1. Very pretentious and convoluted if you ask me. And I pride myself in being extraordinarily awesome at following tv plots, even to the tiniest details. Its worth a watch I guess, but don't expect Season 1 level greatness.
Is anyone else looking forward to this... I cant wait tbh. Looking forward to seeing how the characters and the style of narrative has adapted and moved forward. I just hope Carter as a director isnt stuck in the 90's. This has real scope to go anywhere.
