I heard it's his wife that isn't so keen to come, but someone from work told me that so don't know how reliable that info is.
To be honest it's fair enough, if he doesn't think he can settle down here then it's for the best as unsettled players won't help us.
I still think it might happen, I know a couple on here aren't keen on him but I think he would strengthen us. But I don't see any reasons to dislike him for being unsure, moving somewhere new you want to get it right especially if it's going to be his last club he plays for (maybe) but we don't fully know the reasons, just going on what we've heard which could be untrue.

All I'm saying is there's no need to start name calling or abusive to someone for whatever his reasons may be. If there is a chance to get him still then I think it's worthwhile, but we shouldn't waste too much time on him and focus on someone who wants to play for us.
Everton got him on a free from Rangers, his wages must be fairly high at Everton, so I don't suppose he's hard up, we're offering somewhere in the region of £8 million for him, and he's still holding out for something, which I assume is money. All I'm saying is, if that's his main priority and he's playing us for that, then we should walk away and try for someone who want's to play for us for the right reasons!
There's NO point in us becoming a 'rest home' for more senior players wanting an easy ride until it's time to hang up their boots!!! What we NEED now is players who'll come straight into the squad and be an improvement on what we currently have and who're willing to fight to the last to try and ensure we stay in the PL!!!!
How do you know it's about the money? maybe he's looking somewhere closer to home? we just don't know the reason so there's no point speculating and disliking someone for it. I do agree it's about us and not him, hopefully we have someone else lined up if that deal falls through.
I'd be surprised if it was about the money. Maybe he just didn't fancy coming down here. It's a wonderful place, but not everyone understands that. Maybe Glasgow and Liverpool are better? I wouldn't know, but I'm happy enough where I am. It's a shame because I thought he was up for it, and he seemed a good fit, but there you go. We are used to being disappointed, and what will be will be.
I vaguely remember someone of that name wandering round during the play-off final last year. Is it one and the same?
