He has scored 12 goals in 18 games this season. Can any of your strikers, do better than that?

I didn`t see the game, so I can`t really comment as to what was wrong and what wasn`t right. One thing I think is way too far behind is video technology. It should have been introduced several seasons ago, all goals can be reviewed as well as dodgy incidents.

In the NFL all touchdowns are reviewed to make sure the call is correct, as are dubious incidents, and then there`s the coach`s challenge. This could also be implemented once video tech is in play.

For now all we have is the fallible decisions of several individuals who may or may not be up to the challenges of the game that we used to know and love.

For the first time since Curtis took the reins , I'm a bit worried.
When we went down to ten men , to me , taking Britton off and bringing on Rangel was fundamental suicide.
No probs bringing Rangel on but I thought a more attack minded player should have come off .
I think most know what effect Britton has had since Monk left , unless you've been in the Antarctic for a few months
He's been a stabilizing factor that the defence knows they can count on , it would only seem more so if you go down a man .
Also , Naughton has started one game since Monk got the boot , if Curtis knew he was going to start Naughton against Sunderland , he should have gave him a half game against Oxford to get him warmed up a bit and could have helped shore up the defence for the Oxford game itself .
Not sure why Curtis let Eder make the bench against Oxford , not use him , then not even make the bench against Sunderland .
Curtis himself has said we are not sure if we will even get a new striker in , if that's the case why doesn't he give Eder some minutes while everyone crys for a striker .If we are not going to use our 5 million pound investment , for god sakes sell him ...for our sake and Eder's.

There was no gloating as you put it, there was however appropriate response to some Toon garbage that we are going down by selling Shelvey to them, you can always prove me wrong though?

    No it was not!................<laugh>

Check out my posts if you so wish, and you'll see they are in response to some delusional Toons who think our midfield has now been considerably weakened by us offloading Shelvey, here's the link:

First goal offside. Our penalty not a penalty. Red card not a red card - this was the deciding factor in this game. Our second goal, good goal. Their equaliser a deflected shot that was heading well wide. Their third offside. Their fourth scored due to a tiring 10 man team pushing high up field for an equaliser.

If their first goal had been given offside and the red card rightly not given, who knows what could have happened? The ref and both linesmen made one huge mistake each and here we stand having lost 4-2. The game is a right off as far as we're concerned. One things for sure, even 11 vs 10, I was not impressed by Sunderland one bit. They were poor when it was 11 vs 11, and then poorer when it was 11 vs 10. They needed a deflected strike and two offside goals to be in the lead at 3-2, and even then could only add 1 more even though we were pressing hard without a defensive midfielder (surviving a few scares at the back along the way).

If we're going down, I'm almost certain that Sunderland will be there with us...unless the refs continue to gift them opportunities to win games like they did on Wednesday night.
