QPR tells midfielder wanted by Glasgow Rangers to fight for place and ditch ideas of loan move
Rangers Australian international needs to buckle down and make his mark at Loftus Road rather than try his luck elsewhere either in Scotland or the Championship

    Staying put: Massimo Luongo
Massimo Luongo has been told he is going nowhere in the transfer window - despite interest from Glasgow Rangers and MK Dons.
The shock Ballon d’or nominee has seen his £2 million move in the summer go sour with only 16 appearances for QPR - and just two since the end of October.
Rs are understood to have rejected an approach from Dons, and will thwart any interest from former Brentford chief Mark Warburton, now at Ibrox with the Scottish giants.

Big Down Under: Massimo Luongo playing for Australia
    Luongo,
23, was given a starting place for last Saturday’s FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest, but since a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brentford on October 30, the Australian was left out by Chris Ramsey, and has been all but absent under replacement boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Luongo was part of a double deal with Ben Gladwin from Swindon, who likewise met with limited QPR success necessitating a loan back to the club that sold him to Hoops in October and November.

Let's hope he's got the bottle to battle for a place in the team. Hard to see why a potentially very good player is not producing. If we are serious about giving youth a chance then Luongo and Gladwin should be regular starters. Interesting that Warburton and Robinson are after him...

He never should have had his place in the team taken away from him. It certainly can't be justified when Fer and Phillips get chance after chance regardless of some terrible games.

There's another couple of central midfielders you're missing. Toszer and...

We should be building the team around him. Fer and the rest should be fighting for his spot in the team.

Don't know how much this statement was 'enhanced' by the journalist to sound more dramatic. If there is any truth in it, it certainly wouldn't make me (as a young and inexperienced Championship player) feel wanted and an integral part of the future of the club.

I know you can't stop the media churning out this kind of dross, but I very much hope it's just a crappy journalist making it up.
