So, here it is. The big one for van Gaal in his quest to win over the support and keep his job. If we win, he's sticking around for the rest of the season and we kick on in our quest for the holy grail and most important trophy of all, fourth. If we lose to Liverpool, I suspect he's a gonner. Justifiably so as they are utterly **** and don't have a single decent player in their whole back five. In view of the weakness of the opposition I would like a bit of intent from the manager and go with this side; De Gea Darmian Smalling Jones Blind Scheneiderlin Herrera Martial Mata Depay/Young Rooney. Depends on if Jones is fit, if not Blind at centre half and Borthwick-Jackson at left back. Under no circumstances must Fellaini play or must Young play at full back on either side.
The Scum are **** at defending corners, most teams score a goal against them directly from a corner. This means that one thing is certain...despite being **** in the air, Fellaini starts. I think this is the game in which we will see LVG's negative philosophy go into overdrive. He'll play the whole game not to lose, at no point will he try to win it. A draw keeps him alive.
He has decided Fellaini is for him although he must have been disgusted by that awful miss on Tuesday. It looked that the ****er headed straight onto the GK's hands on purpose. Anywhere else it was goal. We are currently rank at the back especially if we keep that "more attacking" (for LVG) style. But the RS are even more useless. If they go all out from the first minute we would be under huge pressure. Remember Arsenal? We were totally clueless and dazed in the first 25 minutes. We'll be fine if they play a cautious game and fall into LVG's trap.
I agree a draw will keep him alive although I think the management has decided to keep him until at least the summer.
Can't say I'm looking forward to it but will probably have it on the radio. A win for us puts us equal on points with you. We'll go at you no doubt and will look to play at a high tempo.
Saw the Livpl v Arsnl game yesterday. While Liverpool, individually, are pretty much inferior in every position to our squad, the sad fact is that Van Gaal's United would not have lived with either side last night. Fingers crossed they shot their wad last night and will be too knackered to keep that up on Sunday.
Don't know I hadn't noticed that term being used a lot but you might be right. What I'm trying to get at is we shouldn't be all patient and keepy ball against you lot as getting at you is what has worked for teams this season.
Lets get at that statment it'll get some banter going. De Gea - Mingolet Bad start De Gea by a million miles Your back 4 v ours (I don't know who you play there at the moment) Only Clyne is consistent for us and is better than any of your full backs. Lucas is better than any of your midfielders, seeing as he's the best player in the world there's no contest. Can is a Worldie so is also better than all your players. Firmino - Martial Martial is only 12 so has a long way to go. Rooney - Our Tea Lady The Tea Lady wins it easy as Rooney is distracted by the GILF and plays worse than usual. Benteke - Fellani Battle of the trees, jury is out we're waiting to see who moves first and there not a sign of either budging.
Rank as we are, there is no one from your team we would like to be in our first team. Perhaps one or two in our squad.
I look at the Liverpool team and think, what a load of crap, then I look at the UTD team and think, they are not much better
I think Liverpool will win 3-0 as the tempo they will play at will be too much for United but they will need to take their early chances that come their way if not it could be a 1-1
This league really is **** this season in terms of quality. Its Champions are fighting relegation, the team that sat rooted to the bottom for 75% of last season is joint top. The historic big names, United and Liverpool, are mediocre. Even Arsenal and City are not playing exceptionally well. I will be ruing the fact that my club chose this season to be exceptionally ****, otherwise it would have been a relatively easy title to win.
What is this secret winning tactic Liverpool have stumbled upon called the "High Tempo"? That no team can counter. I keep hearing people throwing that about regarding Liverpool
