Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid handed transfer bans
Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been banned from registering players for the next two transfer windows.

They have been punished by world governing body Fifa for breaching rules over the transfer of minors.

The ban does not cover the current transfer window, which runs until the end of this month.

Atletico were fined 900,000 Swiss francs (£622,000), while Real were told to pay 360,000 (£249,000).

There were no immediate comments from the clubs, which have the right to appeal against the decision.

Barcelona were given the same penalty in April 2014 for also breaching rules on the transfer of under-18 players.

Their ban, which ended this month, did not stop the La Liga side from signing players.

They bought Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal in the summer of 2015, though both players were prevented from playing until the current window opened.

The next two transfer windows are July/August 2016 and January 2017.

The Spanish trafficking of kids continues it seems.

I can see this getting appealed a couple times so that they get in a big summer of work.

however on thing is for sure... forget any players being sold by them.

  3. Didn't Barca delay their ban too? If so, expect the same from the Madrid clubs

  4. Similar was for Barca but they still sold players such as Sanchez and Pedro

Ok, they appealed the ban and sold sanchez and bought suarez.... that doesn't count.

Pedro is fair enough... they had him where they wanted him and he wanted to go so they said ok **** off then and bought turan and waited the 6 months unitl the ban was over.

If real appeal and get this delayed to end of next summer they could go mad altogether but i doubt they will start shedding players and not replacing.

Still... they have lots of players

    Atletico are a different story.

    The ban doesn't apply yet.

The biggest impact is probably concerning De Gea. He could still sign for Real but won't be able to play right away.

You were thinking about Stones' move? I don't think that's on now

  9. They may need to consider replacing C.Ronaldo too. He turns 31 on 5 February and they won't be able to sign anyone until summer 2017 when he'll be beyond 32.

he says he will last til 40

no i was thinking of isco, james and bale... all of which have been linked in some form to moves away.

  12. He may believe that but reality is different. We don' see many top players carrying on at that high level well into their thirties, never mind reaching forty. He may be able to play until 40 but not to that same standard which means inevitably not for Real Madrid. He will probably still be top level at 32 though.

Would love us to get Isco, he's the closest thing to Xabi Alonso imo. Can't see Bale going anywhere. Not heard much about James since he joined them.

No chance, there has never been a bigger ego in world football.

Another 2 years at Real, over to PSG for 3 years and then probably off to the states.

    yup.

no matter what the guy says he is going somewhere dodgy to end his career cos he will have a massive massive sum of his net worth tied up in image rights deferred until he gets to the most tax friendly non eu location.

I think he will go to PSG.

  16. That takes him to 36 years of age. Not sure he'll even be at PSG at that age.

  17. I can see Mourinho and C.Ronaldo going to PSG. The transfer ban on Real Madrid may **** it up for CR though.

I could certainly see it as it would assure mourinho of ten league titles in his career as even i would win a title there.

I do hear lauren blanc... matt's brother is getting a new deal though.

Well I'd say Ibrahimovic is the biggest ego in football, ever, mainly cause there is less to back it up with.

As I understand it the ban starts with this summers transfer window, which would also mean it covers this time (Jan) 2017. Obviously no one in to the clubs until July/August 2017.
Player would be able to leave though, as they were with Barca.

However I can see Real fighting the ban and getting a delay which would allow them to buy in the Summer (2016) and then going on a mad spend to cover the following season and a half.
If they were able to get the delay I'd expect players like Hazard, De Gea and one or two others to make the move (maybe Kane?).
