I still say we are capable of 12-14 place a couple more astute signings , Hopefully some more tactical know how from Dyche and woan (if necessary co erced by GT) we will be ok , Chin up buddy
Christ almighty. If anyone needed to be talked into enough gloom to commit suicide they should read some of the posts on here.
I meet loads of people who think Dyche was going to change this tactic ........ Why would he - he is so steeped in MM's style I don't think he's goning to change it. have a look at the pics in the Watford Ob of the Wealdstone game! But I say we look a mess when there are Watford defenders tripping over themselves to get in the keeper's way!!! And as for the lack of an out ball!
Pre season friendly don't read anything into them. Players getting their fitness and not going over the top. Take Exeter at Torquay got thrashed 3-0 and were terrible. However come the start of the season they will be ready. Same with the Super Hornets. Dont Panic...
Agreed Tiverton. We often have a fairly shakey pre-season..it doesn't mean much...just gives everyone a chance to get fit, and for SD to see what works...it's all good. The future is bright, the future is yellow
Mark - thanks for that. Free to air highlights, Watford could learn from that! I think they show how we faded in the 2nd half and AFC were able to run at us far too much. Are AFC "super fit", are we not fit, or was it just an off day. Whichever I cannot deny that AFC were a big challenge for us.
Thanks for that that Mark! and thanks to elixir for fighting his way across London to bring us his match comments! It is much appreciated by the ex pat Orns!
thanks Mark...what it does show is that we created a lot of chances...that's a positive. We did leave them wide open though...
2nd goal was well taken but the first seem to be a basic lack of communication..again. Duche can only do so much on the training ground.
I didn't go to the game but it seems that overall it was a fairly frustrating game in that we were on top and conceded two of the very few chances that Wimbledon had, and at the same time a number of players didn't really perform. At the moment it seems that Deeney is coming in for a fair bit of criticism, but he seems a good player to me, its just we don't know how to use him. Do we use him on the right wing, or as someone to run onto the knock-downs from Iwelumo or as something more of a target man. It's hard to say, as I can't see him displacing Iwelumo or Sordell and we have Yeates at right-midfield. Overall though, pre-season is about building up fitness, and has very little bearing on the actual season. For example, the season Newcastle got relegated they lost 5-0 to Leyton Orient in a friendly
Nothing to be concerned about at the moment... I think similar things were being said last pre-season after losing to Barnet and then struggling to get the draw at Northampton. At the moment it's all about getting players up to match fitness, and trying out things they have worked on at the training ground! There's been a lot of upheaval over the summer, with quite a few outs and ins, so everyone, including the manager, needs a bit of time to settle in! Fortunately most of it has been done early so am confident they will all be ready for the first game... let's just hope the LB comes in soon too!
