Although he is a free agent in June, Byram will not be on a free transfer because he has been developed by the Elland Road side and is still under 24.

Unless an agreement can be reached between Leeds and the club who want to sign him, the issue will go to tribunal – and the Whites run the risk of receiving a lower fee then than they can ask for now.

Wonder what fee they would set... My guess would be much less than £3m

    Morning all

Woohoo Bianchi's going best news all Transfer window,

Erm on regards of Byram to Everton, saying there is only a few months left on his contract £3 million doesn't sound too bad

Technically you're perfectly correct DON. But his book value were he to sign for Everton would immediately jump to at least £6m given his age and potential. He's not yet a certainty for England. But anything approaching decent performances for a club like Everton who are looking to get regular European footy will rapidly increase his value.

Morning everyone, hope you're all good! I thought I'd jump in and say hi today for a change :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think £4-5m is a reasonable amount for Byram now. It's too late for the play-offs and we only have his services for another 6 months. If it goes to a tribunal after his contract is up we'll be lucky to get half that I reckon and like it's been said, we have Coyle to blood which seems quite promising.

And the more deadwood we can get rid of in this window the better. I also think it's a shame if Antenucci goes as I rate him but we simply aren't playing him so no point in paying his wages for nothing.

One thing is for sure, he will be a reserve at Everton. Still a great prospect but wont displace Coleman <ok>

Just a round up of articles that caught my attention for one reason or another...

Tom Adeyemi - Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Evans did not attempt to hide the reason he has not been playing "It's a form issue. We thought he was sloppy, looking laboured.

Cellino on Byram - “We just want to sell Byram because he wants to leave,” “It is better to lose him now. It is less painful for the club.”

Tom Rogic - Celtic boss Ronny Deila has insisted Tom Rogic is staying with the Scottish giants.

LUTV Evans on Promotion - Steve Evans admits his side are not good enough at the moment to earn promotion, he was quoted as saying "we need to get some quality into the club" and he believes he will have us challenging.

McCarthy On Leeds - "Leeds went a bit negative on us, they had the first 10 seconds and maybe another 10 minutes later but we were the better team by a street"

Morning TOM <ok> I rate Ante as well, I cant help but think he would have been a better striker if he had a flat wage contract and not one made up with massive goal bonuses (allegedly) it makes him a more greedy CF but you couldn’t really blame him if thats the case.

Not at all. Were still the Real Madrid of our division. Saturday reinforced that belief. Also reinforced the belief its a **** division full of footballers that are being overpaid ten fold. People think Byrams worth more than 12k a week <laugh>

Hey Bucks :emoticon-0148-yes: I just think he'd have been a lot better with more game time and in a system with another forward. Just wasn't meant to be I guess. At least he won't be going to another championship club!

It's all comparative though mate, is Byram worth £12k a week if Rooney is on £260k a week

I agree to an extent... it's comparative to a degree but they're 2 very different leagues! The difference in club income between the 2 being the main problem in that comparison for Prem v Champ wages

    Morning all.

Never too sure about sell on clauses as the receiving club usually gets a good deal then usually the best productive years of a player before he is then ditched.
Not many go on to boost their value that much. (experts will now come up with examples)

However, Byram wants to move on and we need to replace him with a quality player for yet again next seasons efforts. (eg Mc Cormack <grr> )

Different leagues yes, but Premiership teams are showing an interest so Byram and his agent are now looking at PL wages. PL teams wouldn't have been sniffing around this month if his contract had been sorted 12 months back.

Byram now, I believe he is worth £12k Byram a few months back, no he isn't. The problem is that he was offered a wage cut originally, that is where I believe the damage was done.

Hindsight is great but Ross - Is he worth more than the combined weekly wage of Wood and Antenucci and Doukara.

Snodgrass, Becchio, Ross, Howson, Gradel, Beckford and a few more who escape me, if you want promotion you can't keep selling your better performing players, there is a reason we languish bottom half of the championship season after season.

This isn't an against or for Byram stance, I don't know what other players are on, is any Leeds player worth £12k a week, no but then they are if that is the going rate, this chart is a year old http://screamer.deadspin.com/chart-the-average-player-salaries-in-soccer-leagues-ar-1658856283 but it states that the average Championship players wage is £9,347 a week... We can safely say that will be nearer £10k a week now, is Byram a below or above average Championship player?

Byrams current deal is 14k per week
after upping the original 7k per week offer to 12k per week we are still not near offering what he wants

    Good afternoon from snowy Harrogate.
The overall feeling I get regarding us and our transfers is it has the feeling of the end of the summer season in a spsnish resort about it. Anything that can be sold for decent money will be (Byram/cook) and minimum acquisitions will be made, just enough to keep the place ticking over.
