Add also getting a little of lady luck - wonderful - BSA survival plans now operational - -oops wait a minute ....
See how we do on Sat at Spuds - so not right having such a kick off time - tv schedules ruining game as spectator sport imo
PVA needs moving into midfield on Saturday, put Kirchoff ? in his place, what a game he had, reminds me of Malbranque.
Last time we won two on the bounce. We then didnt win a game in Dec. Lets not repeat that. Onwards and upwards. Hopefully.
Remind me who we've beaten again.....like putting the cart in front of the horse....you have a point that some seem to have forgotten.
season after season fans are constantly lamenting that we can't beat the teams around us. Now when we do that's still not good enough. Long way to go I know but I can only take the wins as a positive. Add to that we've been in alot worse positions than we are now and come through.
Of course the wins are welcomed and are badly needed. Take a quick look at the fixture list for the start of the season. Where we were blessed with what was supposed to be a good run of games. This win was vital for the wrong reasons. But still welcoming. Defoe is the man.
We all knew December was going to be hard. We didn't get the decent start to the season that we hoped for to ride us through that because we had the wrong manager in place. I was as pleased as everyone else that DA came back but it was clearly premature to think he was our best bet after just a few games at the tail end of the season before. At the start of the season I didn't think we had too bad a team - better than last year, but the players just did not perform under DA at the start of the season and the defence was abysmal. That's changed a fair bit now and whilst I would have chosen Dick over Sam at the begining I was wrong. We've got a smattering of qualitty in the team - enough I think for Sam to keep us up. Hopefully he won't throw his toys out of the pram when he gets Short-changed.
We now have a team that's won 2 league games in a row, not a big deal for most clubs but for a struggling one that is a big deal. Confidence must be high in the changing room right now. With more players coming in, a manager with a wealth of PL experience, confidence high in front of goal, and a squad who've been here before, we're in a much better place than the clubs around us. This is where Big Sam needs all of his man management skills up and running. Confidence can be a fragile commodity.
Still a long way to go. Still need 2 or 3 in but it looks a lot better than it did a couple of weeks ago
The game after Spurs is far more important to us, I would take a loss at Spurs and a win against Bournemouth anyday.
Stating the obvious but every game is important now mate. We need around a point a game now, minimum, to the end of the season. And unbeaten runs and away points build confidence. 4 points would just what the doctor ordered.
