Jurgen Klopp sticks Steven Caulker up front as a target, and it works. This is not the reality I remember.

Andre Ayew has a handy habit of kicking the ground and winning penalties. That's twice he's done it now.

I can actually see why Naughton was sent off.

Oh for Christ sake Tom, for Christ sake. Never, ever, ever, ever a red card. Stupid decision. Incompetency.

Me too, because the ref could hear a little girl screaming. Other than that, no way, I'd expect a player to go for that ball. Yellow would have been harsh.

It wasn't a red but in real time it looked worse than it was. His foot was high and his studs were showing. Yellow card would have been fair.

Not even a foul. M'Vila's reaction was all the referee went on. M'Vila actually kicked naughton's leg.

Yes it was. Naughton went in with a high foot and studs showing. That's a foul even if there's no contact.

Look, it wasn't a red card. My point is the decision wasn't as bad as the pundits on MOTD made it out to be.

Agree. Looked worse in real time, but should have only been a yellow.

Much worse was the poor officiating for the Defoe hat trick ...............

Klopp knows to keep him as far away from the Liverpool goal as possible.

It seems to be a fairly new interpretation of rules (recent years), that a player kicking the underside of an opponent's foot is given a free kick, sometimes when the foot is barely off the ground.
If the player kicking the ball, and then the sole of the other player's foot, actually missed the foot and made contact with the blocking player's leg, chances are the ref would wave play on.
Wasn't Soares booked for a similar thing, against Watford?

Hiddink says that Chelsea could still be relegated. I agree it is wise to consider the possibility in order to avoid it, but (despite occasional weird results) I think the teams likely to be relegated are those who looked in danger at the start of the season, such as Sunderland, Villa, Newcastle, Norwich. Swansea may be the surprise candidate.

Very likely, but as they don't have Europe to play for anymore, the spectre of relegation is one of the few cards Hiddink can play to try to prompt a response, as Tasers are frowned upon as motivational tools.

Naughton's red card has been overturned. Shame for the Swans that it happened at all.
