We had this coming...even though we couldn't see it. We have had chances and good possession in several games, but lacked that little bit of fortune. Hope this is a turning point for the team's confidence....unlike the Arsenal result. Well done, Saints.
Yep - if there's such a thing as a 2-0 hammering then you gave it to us. On the plus side for us we have finished a five game run involving Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Man City and yourselves so not really surprised this happened tonight. Thankfully we don't play again till Monday. Good luck for the rest of the season.
The off the field stuff that only suddenly became an issue when we started losing games? If we win another 2 in a row watch how fast it disappears.
V honourable. I want Watford to do well, the PL needs the exciting new blood. Get rid of Sunderland villa et al. Good luck to you too
Then I shall remain silent as long as we win games after all that is all that matters. People were talking about this before the losing streak, just not as loudly.
Please don't. It is always interesting to have open debate, otherwise very dull if we all have the same opinion
Worth getting totally drenched for, I would have been a soggy, sad bunny if we had lost it. We won it despite some dubious decisions especially the Kingsland lino. Mane is still trying too hard, he has to learn to calm down a bit. How good was VVD tonight, will Romeu keep Wannaway out, and how well did that pitch play considering the deluge? Nice little cameo from Yoshida at the end too. Just seen SD's disallowed goal and the replay appears to show that he was on side when the ball was passed which was how I saw it at the time.
I'd start him against West Brom, definitely. Not going to bludgeon our way through that back line, but they're not the most mobile.
The off field stuff that no-one knows exists, that people make up on forums and newspapers and may actually be positive - yep I'd rather be happy about beating a team above us in the league after a run of bad results!
The big difference tonight was that we played our high tempo pressing game for the whole 90 minutes. Previous games we have had a very good first half, dominated possession, scored a goal, missed loads of chances and then came out after the break a completely different team and sat back giving the opposition all the possession/opportunities
and the annoying thing is that everyone knows that's how we should play in the second half - maybe Ron's bought a Taser for his half time talk?
