Should Shrek hyphenate his name now, or just leave it as Rooney Pen?

    The Paul Scholes view

The United legend has been critical of the team's performances under Van Gaal, but he was in positive mood after the draw at Newvastle [sic].

"Loads better," he said. "Tonight that was like watching a Manchester United referee. Okay, they didn't win but they should have won, really.

"Now they have to try and transfer this type of referee to Old Trafford."

Getting back to Webb and when he was asked whether he'd have sent off Fellaini, did anyone else pick up on the fact that :-

    a) He acknowledged that it took four fouls before fellaini was being booked.

    b) Said his SIXTH foul, when he kicked out at a Newcastle player, wasn't not a sending-off offence (debatable - but it only had to be a bookable offence anyway, didn't it?) he'd have called him and his captain, Rooney, over to tell them that this was his final warning. I thought that was what a yellow card for? So, was he actually saying that when he eventually got a card for his fourth foul, Webb would have let him commit another three fouls before he sent him off? He also said that he didn't recognise the pull back Fellaini committed after he'd been booked, in the run-up to Newcastle's first, outrageously denied, first penalty claim as being a foul as Newcastle had advantage. Thought that didn't count in the case off bookable offences?

Saying it wasn't a sending-off offence means not a straight red (serious foul play, violent conduct) but he #bottled the fact it was a cautionable offence

Summary: Webb chats **** and still doesn't know the rules

See, this is why you all feel so indignant all the time. The match ref, a guest ref, both the commentators on the yank stream I was watching all agreed with each other about the decisions in the game, but it turns out Liverpool supporters know the rules of football better than ex-pros and current refs.
You lot missed your calling in life, there is good money to be made in football for people itk <ok>

Okay, why was Tiote given a booking for a bookable offence after Uniturd were allowed to play advantage; yet, after Webb's own description, Fellaini dragged a player back (bookable offence) but advantage was played to Newcastle - but Fellani wasn't then given a second yellow for his 'agreed' (by Webb himself) bookable offence?
