We've had seasons where our second half form has dropped off, but in more recent seasons, we'd started poorly and had really good form in the second half of the season. HIAG of all people should know that. He only has to look back to Feb 2012 when Spurs were 0-2 up at the Emirates and looking at a 13 point lead over us in 4th. We spanked them 5-2 and it acted as the catalyst for us overtaking the Spuds once again. It was one of the biggest bottle jobs ever. If you're looking for a spiral downwards, it was Spurs that season (amongst others)
There's a rumour going around that the new contract given to Dele Alli is a smokecreen softener by Levy aimed at mitigating Spurs fans anticipated reactions when Harry Kane's imminent transfer to Man United gets confirmed later this month ... However, speculation that Levy has been seen at an exclusive French restaurant in Alderley Edge now seems misplaced - a photograph that was being touted to various press agencies has since been discredited as 'probably photo-shopped' please log in to view this image Mangetout!
Oh look!. An extremely silly jibe at Spurs, and surprise, surprise, Piskie likes it. Well I never!!... As to the 'joke' 2/10 - must do better. Much better!!...
Come on now NSIS ... chill ... try to forget that it's Spurs ...focus instead on the artistry, the craftmanship ... HIAG will be secretly wetting himself and attempting to emulate both sometime soon ...
Sorry, Fossil, but that was lame. Incidentally, it was me who invented the whole Harry Lame thing. Comic genius, that was (at the time).
The 'Joke' was worse than lame. But, if you're looking to get a quick 'like' from Piskie, just post anything anti Spurs. Degree of humour or relevance not important!
Oh dear! I must be having a meltdown ( whatever that is!) without realizing it! I know it must be true because Piskie says so, and he's never wrong about anything - ever!..
I love this forum the general standard of posting is very good and wums are generally good natured and harmless. I do wonder why there is a perception that Tottenham Hotspur are the only football club in this country who ever sell a good player. Yes we sold Carrick (9 years ago) and Berbatov (7 years ago) to Manchester United, both wanted to leave (Berbatov virtually went on strike which has been well documented) and at the time they were moving from a club who whilst they were on the up, were still not even established as a regular top six side (something no one deny that we are now) to the biggest club in the country (no amount of Money will in the short term will make Chelsea or City bigger than Utd). Then Modric left, (3 years ago) we kept him for an additional season when all seemed lost and we were told by the media that we was definitely going to sign for Chelsea, and he was brilliant for us, and as had been agreed he was allowed to leave the following year when the worlds biggest club came in for him (that happened to Man Utd with one Christiano Ronaldo). And then there was Bale, once again the worlds biggest club came calling and Daniel extracted a world record fee from them for our star man. So that’s 4 players in 9 seasons who we sold and who moved on to bigger and better things – I guess you could also include Robbie Keane but that was only really like a loan that we made a massive profit on and I won’t include him Liverpools list either. Yes we would like to have kept them all and what a team we could have had, but are we bitter? no we are not ! And over a similar period are we only one team that has sold players that we would like to have kept? Mmmm let me think ………………..No! I think that you all knew the answer to that question so here are a few examples of other clubs that have also sold good players that they probably wanted to keep in the last 9 years Arsenal - Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Alex Song, Bakary Sagna, Ashley Cole, Thierry Henry, Aleksandr Hleb Liverpool – Raheem Sterling, Luis Suarez, Daniel Agger, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano, Alvaro Arbeloa And of course United lost Ronaldo and Danny Welbeck!
All perfectly correct, of course. Sadly, it won't get you far with this lot. Facts are never allowed to get in the way of a good Wum!...
I would argue that Spurs are the most solid team in the PL at the moment. Now, before you jump on that I said "solid team". They are the ones that work most like a team to get results. Arsenal and Man City have better players but Spurs have a better team mentality / setup. Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are behind Spurs atm imo.
