What I was saying is, the mods are doing a great job, but rules and regulations need looking at and updating occasionally; I purposely used the term "on balance" and used the terms "current arrangements and current board moderators" multiple times as a humorous reply to chippies previous comments to Jock.

Maybe I need to work on my humorous delivery.....:emoticon-0140-rofl:.

The Leeds60 situation seems to be divided between members on here, I personally couldn't see any reason to ban him, especially as others were continually replying to his replies to their replies.

I personally disagree with banning anyone unless it's for continual verbal abuse across the board, anything less then people have the option, and choice of using the ignore button, after all, that's what it's there for. I personally wouldn't use it but it's there to use if people need to use it.......:emoticon-0148-yes:

I am going to sound like Neil here (no offence).

    Why does it?
Have you got some secret agenda to hide?
You are among friends here and we all respect your opinion so no need for secrecy.

I have thoughts that I discuss with the other supermods / owner
I have thoughts that I discuss with other mods
I have thoughts that I discuss with posters

I dont know whether that is having a secret agenda or just using common sense

My personal opinion is that our mods(fecking hate using that term) are the best in the buisness and have always been fair in their actions. If I'm out of line, a PM is all that is needed to sort me out. Not that I ever need to be reprimanded because I never cross the line.......:emoticon-0110-tongu So basically I don't think the Leeds Utd board needs changing. <ok>

Maybe you should clean up this mess then and tell us what exactly you propose to do with your data analysis?

We as mods have nothing to hide so as soon as you tell us, we will be cascading it down anyway so why not put this to bed?
Its only causing more divide in my opinion.

I never said you did. But if there are rule changes for the whole of 606 well obviously that means those rule changes will effect the Leeds utd board.
If we are being serious, because I think this whole episode has been blown way out of proportion. This has happened because basically two members couldn't get on and neither of them wanted to back down. Then the mate of the former member stood up for his friend and wrote a long statement which got you so called SUPER mods involved. I'll say it one more time, our mods are doing a fine job IMO and I don't think we need any interfrerence from the powers that be. I could understabd if you had received multiple complaints regarding the most recent banning, but you seem to be reacting because of one post..now that's enough of me being serious because I'm getting a fecking headache.

Bucks can you close this thread before 2.00 because its doing my head in and we just seem to be going round in circles..<steam>

Supermods are looking at the rules that we work with across the boards

We need to have a system that works for all the football forums & are wondering if we need to tighten up / be clearer about what permanent bans are given for & whether they are other options that can be put in place to prevent future situations getting to this extreme

I was interested to see what the views were on this board & whether any suggestions of what may have prevented a recent ban occurring who be forth coming

I for one would like to see the ignore button used more & possibly the ban from replying to a thread but as I say - these are just thoughts at the moment & not a criticism of the mods on here or any other board for that matter

We have many challenging posters who cause havoc at times but Mick, the owner, is in favour of free speech where ever possible & doesn't like banning posters except for spam/porn etc & it is his board

Your right about it going around in circles though, its just causing more fractions IMO ,<ok>

I wish we had Posh members to moderate

But given the situation you describe I would speak to those concerned by PM to put the irritant on ignore & not be tempted to respond & as a mod I would expect the members to behave accordingly

It is very much the behaviour management I would use for an irritating toddler - ignore behaviour that you which to discourage - ie not give attention to negative behaviour

If an irritation was abusive - I would delete that post

If they continued I would ban them from that thread

If they changed the victim of their behaviour - I would repeat the actions as above

Sorry I forgot to mention I would also ask again by PM that the irritant is not quoted unless it is a valid football comment

I know people will then log out to read what is beginning said - but all that is needed is a bit of maturity shown by the majority
