He was involved in all 3 goals last night, if I'm not mistaken.

    - A great calm penalty despite missing his last 2 attempts for other clubs, and needing to equalize.

    - Causing Smalling to lose his rag. He can put excellent physical pressure on a team, and draw in 2 defenders at a time.

    - An excellent knock down for the 1st and 3rd goals.

He's exactly what a target man should be, and it's not his fault he's often isolated.

,MCCLAREN, WATCH THE REPLAY AND REALISE THAT WE NEED TO ****ING GET UP THE PITCH AND GET PLAYERS AROUND THIS LAD!! HE CAN'T DO IT BY HIMSELF!

Get layers around Mitrovic, and he will be extremely important, and he's shown that he's probably not gonna score 20 goals a season, but he can be a solid target man getting 10 goals and 10 assists a season, and the other goals we require can come from other areas.

He doesn't look like a player ever great enough to force a transfer to a top club, but I think there be interest and If we're able to make it into the top 10, we should be able to keep him.

He is definitely feeling the pressure and the pace of the league, and will take some time. He's obviously not the greatest footballer, but I definitely think he could have a bright future here and play a huge rule in the squad.

I think he COULD score 20+ a season if you include our penalties.... eventually.
He was sublime last night. With the correct support around him and the crowd screaming their support (he's a confidence player) then the lad can be what he wants to be.

Technically Fellaini was the assist for Gini and, at times, Mitro looked a bit clumsy, and half a yard slow. BUT he holds it up, he draws the fouls and he puts in a shift. More experience of this league and I think he'll get there. Watching him off the ball, he kept trying to move for the diagonal and was always trying to make himself available for the knock down or to hold it up. Best he's played so far, but a long way still to go.

Plus the fact he started kicking the advertisement board after scoring the pen was class #Temuri

He did well last night, apart from getting in the way of a shot or two, but he's a right bully of a player.

I thought the knockdown for your first come from Fellaini rather than him mind, although he obviously contributed in a way to the goal.

Your right hand side was terrorising our LB, I think McClaren's got you playing some good football, I can't figure out why you're in the bottom 3 if you're playing like that. You took the game to us, it's not as if you defended for your lives and snatched a lucky draw.

Mitrovic is probably my favourite player this season. Him and Gini. With someone alongside him he's going to score goals.

So for the first 15 games or so, with one or two exceptions, we've played nothing like that. Many players weren't showing up and we had the axis of evil in the middle with Anita and Colback trying to out-pirouette each other. Colo forgot to play football, Sissoko thought he should be in the Champions League, we got 3 red cards to upset the side and Gini Wijnaldum was on the left. A few changes later, some solid psych coaching from Black (guessing) and finally they started putting a shift in, but then we discovered we can't score goals. 4 x 0-1 later and we're still bottom 3, in spite of having glorious opportunities in every match spurned by Mitrovic, Gini and Perez. Finally get one or two breaks against your lot but had some dubious Mike Dean-ing to contend with. We now need to keep this up, because thus far we've only played well(ish) on the counter - Man U was the first game where we've effectively taken the game to the opponent. If we do that against the "lesser" sides we'll be fine. At this stage, it's still an "if".

Well good luck, I'm a big fan of Steve McClaren as a coach and wish him the very best wherever he goes, without him we wouldn't have won the treble in 99. If you can play that sort of football consistently then you're gonna get better results than you've seen so far. A bit of squad depth should do you the world of good.

I remember somebody chatting about colours, purples and that, at Newcastle, you can't just have 11 good players and I think your owner knows this now.

He just needs time. He is a young lad like Perez. Both have ability but they are being asked to see a PL team through a season goals wise. No other club would expect that of two players who need the rough edges smoothed off. Its why Austin would have been perfect for us. Experienced, proven and would have eased the pressure. We also need some pace. Cisse will score goals but he is lazy, injury prone, and not very quick. He won't move teams around like we need.

We should be going all out for Austin this window. Failing that, get Loic Remy on loan until the end of the season and sign Austin then on a free.

Guys he's ****!!!! Seriously he's not fast enough simple as that.

He can't even jump, so his height is worthless

Great character but he's not a premiership striker

    Best suited to Italy

Also you know you're getting desperate and when using the term involved in

Sheringham was painfully slow. Niall Quinn was slow. Crouch is/was slow. Berbatov, koeman, mertesaker, xabi alonso, pirlo, le tissier. There are loads of slow footballers who excelled or still do.

With the exception of nial quinn and crouch they could all play football so it's totally different.

    Actually
Mitrovic can also play football. His control and passing are decent.

No idea why there's hate for Mitrovic. I really don't. Like a few others, I like him, he has presence and a few other attributes as well. At worst he's pretty good. But we're 2nd bottom (at time of writing!), what do we expect?!
