I thought Mitro did alright tonight. Made a nuisance of himself all game and was much cooler from the spot than I expected. Was almost sure he was going to blaze it over...Fk me he should of squared it to Gini for that chance though. If only to save himself the embarrassment of that totally fluffed shot.
if Smalling had a stinker, then let's not overlook the torrid time Mitro gave him. It was like WWE at times. Wonder if we will get that striker now we scored three goals lol Perhaps Pavel was watching over that one?
Mitrovic and Coloccini both too honest, Smalling and Fellaini both could have been sent off if they resorted to theatrics. Commendable but probably a little naive.
Battled hard but still need that clinical finisher with Winjaldum just behind. Defo we should have got a 2nd penalty but Dean chickened out. We need a battling performance on Sat against West Ham, who won again despite Andy Carroll going off injured after just 15 mins.
Great game to watch. Man u were obviously aware most if our attacking okay cones from the right and packed that area at times. Should have won in the end really
He was better, but frankly playing a part in any goal catapults the performance a bazillion light years ahead of previous efforts. If pundits want to go nuts over Rooney putting the ball the otherside of the goal to normal, then Mitrovic deserves the same credit. It wasn't exactly a confident penalty, perhaps understandably, but you should really always score from pens. I don't expect a great performance every game from strikers, in every facet, but that to me was what we should refer to as an average performance. He grappled with Smalling, but I think Smalling massively overestimated his ability and went to extreme lengths for no reason, should have seen red. To me, it once again displayed so many flaws in his game. So slow, it was painful. In such a fast league you have to be exceptionally talented to justify being a slow coach. His touch was about 40/60 in terms of control from the high ball, his best, but if this is all he has to his game, not really good enough. Shooting? Dreadful... Not a striker. He has no technical ability. He's our, less talented, Fellaini. Should really be a sub at best, a last throw of the dice. A big strong player with some pace would have torn them to shreds, ala Demba Ba vs Man Utd... That's as much as I can put into words how little I rate him as a footballer, and it's currently my favourite hobby.
Yes Carroll off injured again... Surely the last time anybody will call for his return. Shame for him because he could have been special.
I think we all need to be patient with Mitrovic. I can see enough in him that I think he'll come good over time. I think we need someone bringing in to score goals right now but next season I think Mitro will be better. If I was McLaren the main area of his game I'd be working on is just his work rate and pressing high up the pitch; I think he stands around and watches the game too much. He has been getting into positions to score and unlike some others I think he can shoot and score but maybe he's been a bit unlucky, but also the time he has to react/make a decision in the Premier League is less than he's been used to. He'll get used to the pace, the physicality, and also the pressure which I think he is probably feeling. I'd just prefer to be using him a bit more sparingly and have an experienced striker doing the business right now. Same applies to Perez tbf.
Enjoyed that. Well worth extending my trip for. Thought they showed a lot of heart to come back and get a point. Mrs also won 300quid in casino on way home so. A good evening.
might be late ..but convinced colback is way out of his depth .. was poor i thought last night ..to slow .bit of lazy at times ... when a center half runs from there box to our s without being marked or closed down ..well somethings bad ( did anyone see that )
And whenever he had to run around a bit, he had to take a fcking breather!! It was laughable! Once we get an actual eleven players on the pitch, we'll win games. Too often we've carried the likes of Colback, Tiote, Cisse, and Sissoko early in the season.
A mate of mine is a Man Utd fan (and actually from Salford) and he says we should have taken all 3 points last night. He also said he wished we had as it will mean LVG having a stay of execution. The die hard reds hate the bloke with a passion, big time...
I thought MBemba had a poor game for you lot, you'd have won if he was a bit more switched on. Lingard ran right past him, but he was ball watching as he was running back, he could have tracked Lingard's run but thankfully he wasn't focused on Lingard. We both had a couple of chances to win the game and never took them, De Gea and Elliot both had to make good saves to earn us both a point.
I wouldn't agree with your mate, far from it, we don't hate Van Gaal. Unless he's sitting in a bitchy, moany old pensioners block hearing murmurs from people around him. We're still vocally supporting the manager inside the ground. I'll never call for his head as long as Pep Guardiola's ugly head is looking for a new job.
wasn't his best like m8 ... with the 2nd goal jannmatt got caught up field ..but that's when good c mids come into the game ..sniffing oot the danger ..maybe a foul basicly covering his attacking full backs ...we had neither last night ..colback and co couldn't be arsed ..
