I am not blaming Curt in any way. Our board though need to get their finger out of their arse as we are fast turning into a joke and will be going down without a fight. What is strange is others seem to be finding players to improve their squads, already, Bournemouth went out and sign Afobe, have we fallen behind them now as a club players want to come to.
Like Cutis says , no sense in buying a striker for the sake of it .If we can't get who fits , I'm all for getting no one . Would prefer to get someone , but if we can't let's get Eder up and running and use Gomis as a super striker sub till he even remotely looks like he's willing to keep his head in a game for 90 minutes ....what choice will we have ?
Relegation. There are 44 sides in the PL and Championship 43 of them all have better strikers than we do. Anyone who stays on side, stays on his feet, puts some effort in and scores more than 1 goal in about 10 is better than what we have and would give us at least a chance of staying up. For me no new striker equals The Championship next season. Curtis is just being a mouth piece for upstairs, there are plenty out there if the board are prepared to pay, it appears we are not, so its not that they are not out there and they wouldn't fit our side its just we wont pay.
I would love to get a striker , but has to be the right one .Look at the prices they are going for for unproven guarantees. Teams are buying players , whether they are strengthening will be seen by May . Eder will stay onside , give 100% if given a chance .All I'm saying is if worse comes to worse and we didn't get someone , we might have someone already .Don't get me wrong , lefty , I'm not happy with the way things are progressing either .
Mate I was all for Eder being given a chance, from what I have seen he is better than Gomis, but there are not enough goals in him to keep us up. We have only scored more goals than Villa in the league, we can not keep relying on the defence to keep us in games. What I am saying is anyone is better than what we have. Because what we have got CANNOT score goals and with them we will go down. It will not be Curtis' fault it will be the boards for not investing.
Agree wholeheartedly , my biggest concern is paying 15 million for someone at an absorbent price and have the same problem and being even poorer ( fianacially ).Got to be the right guy or not at all and the January (Panic ) window isn't a great place to do business , especially trying to land someone of any quality wanting to join a relegation battle .If it wasn't so serious a time , it would be hilarious watching Jenkins in a panic , hunting for an overpriced striker , after his bellyaching about the Bony deal.
If we don't buy a competent striker soon we only have ourselves to blame... Gomis was on his way out last summer and Salomon Rondon was coming in but Bafe's move to the Arabian peninsula collapsed. Rondon instead went to west brom... Twice the striker Gomis will ever be, and we didn't come through
I fully agree with trunds that if we don't get another striker or even better two then we are most likely down as we will never get enough points with what we have got plus the fact that curtis does not have it as a manager and he will try any player he wants whether they are good enough or not. .....Does jinx's and the board want to stay in the premiership because of the cost it has to play here,,,I'm beginning to think they want us back in the championship where they can manage us better. Whatever it is they are showing no interest in keeping us here... I remember uncle dave and papa smurf wanting their clubs relegated to the championship because they could not afford the expense of the premiership even with the rewards on offer....
Pellagrini says no one is coming in and no one is going out this window at Man City .He would be an absolute fool to let Bony leave and I think he knows it .
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ismith-and-aiden-mcgeady-set-to-leave-everton Rumour on Planet Swan that Naismith and Gibson heading our way. Thoughts?
Bournemouth are playing very well of late and after playing so well of late they spend 20 million on two good strikers ....you don't want to know my thoughts on how we can't attract one good striker .
Don't see Gibson as really improving us in anyway, as for Naismith wouldn't be my choice, cant be any worse that what we have got, so worth a go.
Being reported in the Italian press we put in a 7.5 million bit for Lazio left winger / forward 20 year old Keita Balde Diao .
What the FA cup has shown us is that there are very hungry players in the other divisions of the football league. Surely worth a look?
