Lets look at it this way. The January window is a bit ****, you either buy ****, buy expensive over priced players or you buy someone whos got something wrong with them or in the very very rare case you find a bargain. I can see Jan just being a loan window and for agreeing deals when a players contract runs out in July in the future as most clubs don't want to take the risk of spending big on a player they're unsure of and just wanting to cover their squad (injuries and the such like) until they can do it properly in the Summer. This loans could end up being a couple of games at most, depending on if the CB's can maintain their fitness until the end of the summer.
yes.... its very rare to find that bargain or guy that will take off. Suarez is a great example. Damaged goods his team was ready to shift. Carroll is a great example of gross over paying plus he was injured. A player has to be either easily replaced, or the team really needs the cash so maybe a delle alli type... or you've got to be desperate. I think we will have to see
Caulker Think of the worst Liverpool player in your history, chop his leg off, make him blind and you may come close to caulker. What are you lot thinking Really have gone down in my expectations.
Thanks for all visiting fans for providing some powerful #jinx value so Caulker will have the game of his life
Its only till the end of the season and its not like he's going to be first choice, he's going to be sitting on the bench and playing in the FA cup replay. Then in the summer we can look to get some proper players at a reasonable price (maybe even free)
Was in meeting all day and one of guys mentioned was liked.. I laughed thinking was winding me up.. Turns out he was serious
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team/player/steven-caulker Liverpool completed the loan signing of Steven Caulker from Queens Park Rangers in January 2016 in order to ease a defensive injury crisis during Jürgen Klopp's first season at the helm. London-born Caulker began his career with Tottenham Hotspur, joining the club's academy as a teenager in 2007 after impressing on trial. He subsequently progressed through Spurs' youth teams while building a reputation as a talented centre-half, and was deemed ready for senior football in 2009 at the age of just 17. A loan spell with Yeovil Town in League One followed, with Caulker making 46 appearances in all competitions for Terry Skiverton's team despite his tender years. The defender kicked off the following season by making his Tottenham debut in a League Cup defeat to north London rivals Arsenal. But his search for more experience would take him to the Championship just days later, as a season-long stint with Bristol City was agreed. Caulker again impressed, helping guide the Robins to safety during a campaign that saw him notch the first two goals of his professional career. As a result, his parent club deemed him ready for the step up to the Barclays Premier League in 2011-12, as a temporary deal was struck with newly promoted Swansea City. The now-19-year-old Caulker took the step up with ease, helping the Swans enjoy a remarkable debut campaign in the English top-flight and bolstering his reputation as a future star. That summer he featured for Team GB as they participated in the 2012 Olympics football tournament in London. By 2012-13, Tottenham were ready to give their academy graduate a chance, and he made 18 league appearances over the course of the season, as well as seeing plenty of European action. His rise was further recognised that year with a maiden call-up to the England senior squad and, incredibly, he netted a goal on debut against Sweden at the Friends Arena, turning home a Steven Gerrard free-kick. A desire to play more regular football saw Caulker make the permanent move to Cardiff City in the summer of 2013, though the Welsh club's relegation that season opened the door for yet another move 12 months later, this time to Queens Park Rangers. Unfortunately, the Loftus Road outfit suffered the same fate last term, meaning the defender required a loan stint with Southampton in the first half of 2015-16 to secure more top-flight football. Now he will get another chance to show his qualities with the Reds, as Klopp looks to boost his defensive ranks during a problematic spell in terms of injuries.
Klopp already said Toure and Sakho are available for Arsenal and Lovren will be fit for utd. So he has clearly come in as back up and last resort.
