http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14...1s___but_hasn_t_suffered_setback/?ref=mr&lp=4 Well at least Forster is ok. Can't see the point in him sitting on the subs bench so maybe he will start.
Not sure I believe that article. Why would we prioritise giving game time for Gazza - who is effectively our third choice keeper now - ahead of aiding Fraser's recovery? Even more so given that Ron said last week that Fraser would play in this game. Maybe Fraser's recovery has had a setback. Maybe Fraser is now inline to start on Wednesday. Either could explain Gazza starting tonight. But I don't buy the Echo line's of Gazza needing game time himself, over Fraser.
The other explanation (despite Ron's comment last week) is that even for a keeper, two games in less than a week for a player recovering from a long term, serious injury, may just be too risky. These injuries are not just about playing and seeing how it is, but also about the gradual build up again on wear and tear/stress and strain.
A nervous one nil victory ala palace home last year. ..It would be great as I'd get one over on my Watford supporting girlfriend
got a bad feeling watford will out play and beat sfc and the reality of our situation will become apparent. Watford have good team spirit. Saints in disarray.
Maarten has a hamstring issue. If it doesn't sort itself out before kick-off then Fraser will be starting.
Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport If Maarten Stekelenburg fails to shrug off a hamstring issue, Fraser Forster will start for #saintsfc v Watford, Ronald Koeman confirms.
Ronald in suit....not his usual trackies. Smart. I felt he was less tetchy this week...certainly aware how quotes can turn into headlines. Claims he was less critical about the u21s than headlines suggested....I have said before that his honesty can sometimes cause problems as the press are like vultures if you feed them a titbit. Definitely only going for one player if any in this window. Wouldn't stand in Caulker's way as we are well covered at CB. Sounds like we may go back for Vilhena in the summer.
Tough game this, Watford a very well organised side with pace and power up top too. Sounds like exactly the sort of side we struggle against (paticuarly at home). 1-1 I reckon. If Pelle is fit then we will win On that subject any news on Pelle?
