Guestimate 2 or 3 only playing at the Vic in 2 years time .
Hopefully Deeney and Ighalo will carry on scoring freely for the rest of the season with the 'orns ....If they then wish to leave in the summer , the club should receive close to peak value for these 2 assets .
Would not be surprised if Deeney is with us in 2 years time , ...but the probability of Ighalo going in the summer , has to be close to 95% ..

Thats right so when we lose 2 or 3 players then the owners / manager will carry on .And if we end up 14th or 15th with extra money in the bank so be it

It was exactly that and a very off the cuff comment that the press have turned into a full fledged transfer. Just demonstrates how easy it is to play chinese whispers!

He's probably on between 1 and 2 million a year now at Watford. He would expect 10 million a year at Man U. Hopefully we can squeeze 30 million out of them.

Arsene Wenger has dismissed reports that Arsenal are planning to make a bid for Watford’s captain Troy Deeney.

It was reported in the national media this week that the Gunners were preparing a £20 million move for the Hornets striker, who has scored six goals in his last 11 games.

Deeney will not leave Watford this month. He has said as much and so has Watford’ head coach Quique Sanchez Flores. And this morning Wenger refuted the link in one word.

He was asked in his pre-match press conference if the Deeney to Arsenal reports were “rubbish”.

    He simply replied: “Yes.”

I actually think he'd be great for them - would add something totally different and, if anything, change their style to be even more dynamic and maybe even more combative. I am glad Wenger rubbished it as I do not think it was that crazy an idea. Not that I am biased or anything!

I have never really rated him and £14M is ridiculous, I cannot see any club coming in for him at that price. He's not good enough for the top 5 clubs and no other club would be foolish enough to part with £14M for him. If he does not go in January, I would expect The Spuds do not get more than £7M in the summer.

Press reporting they turned down a £10m from us....a loan would be best option really... to see how he fits in .....he doesn't clearly have many options

Reports say Atalanta have beaten Udinese to the signature of Watford winger Alessandro Diamanti.

The Italy international has only made three appearances for the Hornets this season and has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A.

Sky Italia report today that Atalanta have overtaken Udinese in the race for the 32-year-old and are on the verge of completing a deal with the English club.

Diamanti is vastly experienced in the Italian top flight, having scored 31 goals in 153 appearances for Bologna, Livorno, Brescia and Fiorentina.

Leicester City and Watford are the latest Premier League clubs to be linked with Saddlers starlet Rico Henry, as Scottish giants Celtic continue to watch strike pair Romaine Sawyers and Tom Bradshaw.

The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all believed to have scouted full-back Henry this season, with the Red Devils and Spurs thought to be at the head of the queue.

However, Leicester have shown they are willing to gamble on young domestic talent, picking up the likes of England hotshot Jamie Vardy and, most recently, Demarai Gray, from the Football League in recent times.

Watford - who signed star striker Troy Deeney from the Saddlers back in 2010 - are also believed to be interested in England under-19 international, along with several Championship clubs, no doubt including former Walsall boss Dean Smith's Brentford.
