We need a striker who is going to score, but they also need to work. they to run, harry defenders. The fans don't like lazy bastards. I can't stand watching Cisse at times, he just saunters around putting no pressure on defenders and allows teams to make easy progress up the pitch. The goals will come anyway if you can finish. Austin is probably the best option for us. He scores goals, he works and he is proven in this country and league. I just can't see him joining. I'd want Austin, Shelvey and then a centre back and left back. Not sure the latter two will be available from these shores? If not I'd look to Germany or Eastern Europe. Get a couple of nasty bastards.
Yeah another useless French C/D international who has chosen to represent an african country after realising he is gash compared to everybody in France. Carr is just senile isn't he. Exactly. That senile old **** needs to put out to pasture. He has a constant hard on over young French players. It's worrying. If you're going to sign centre backs, get over to the Bundesliga. It's the closest league in Europe to the PL in terms of physicality and pace. If we are eyeing up defenders then someone like Matip or someone of his ilk should be the target.
I agree or the Eastern Block where they are just hard as nails. They have often seen the **** side of life and it shows. I watch Kolarov, Vidic etc and they just don't take no ****.
Leave off carr it's not like he's window shopping at harrods he's looking for needless in haystacks. Also he's a geordie and the more of them in nufc the better
We need CB this window. Willo off, Saylor out of contract, and Colo, though he has played better of late is still past his peak. At a minimum they need to sign a CB and give them the second half of the season to settle in.
Sadly the mojority of the fans don't give players time to settle - apparently they should slot in and become immediately world class in that position!
I don't think the majority of fans think like that, what they do want though is players that for the money spent on fees and wages are actually capable of doing an even moderately decent job, lets be honest if you spent £75,000 on a high performance car and looked under the bonnet to find it had no engine you wouldn't be too chuffed would you, any player at any club coming into the PL should expect that they have to find their feet and get on with these days, you only have to watch tv around the world to know what is expected in this league.
Have already mentioned lots of players who took 6-12 months to settle (some of which were worldies). Just because people watch the game on tv doesn't mean they know exactly what is expected of them and how they will cope! All our new signings under SM have been shown that they can do and have done so for previous clubs so we know they have an engine, unfortunately all engines have problems from a £1000000 engine to a £300 engine!
