Apparently Shelvey is about to sign for Newcastle on a 5 year deal , and he has been promised to play in the middle of the pitch by McClaren .Shelvey in the hands of Newcastle is bad news for us and I'd rather offer him to Palace for less .Between Shelvey going to Newcastle and Afobe signing for Bournemouth ! I see them both clawing their way from the relegation battle . If we don't pull up our socks we are depending on Norwich , Sunderland and Villa to stumble their way to relegation . No Shelvey to Newcastle would be the best thing he ever did for us imo

I have to disagree , he's professional footballer with all the riches that brings but one thing it doesn't give him is the right to take the piss out of my Club and that's what he and a few others have been doing continually this season .Let some one else put their arm around his shoulder because he's a hopeless cause , how long do you think he's going to last at Newcastle if he puts in the same effort up there as he has for us , they're not a forgiving lot up there and won't take no bullshit from a southern anker . How many times has he been awarded Mom since he's been with us ? he's had 3 managers in his short time were they all wrong?

Shelvey is set to have a Newcastle medical
Sky sources report that Swansea have agreed to sell Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle for a fee in the region of £12m.

And the England international midfielder is expected in Newcastle for his medical today.

He clearly has wanted to go for quite some time.

My concern is that we are helping to strengthen one of our direct rivals in the relegation dog fight. I remember when we loaned Dobbie to Blackpool.....

Anyway, what do we do with the cash? Spend it all on a striker? Spend some of it on a replacement midfielder?

Norwich, Bournemouth and Newcastle are not shying away from spending big to try and stay in the PL.....
