I really don't think that we can. Our credibility is shot to pieces. We are a ****ing joke of a club with the three wise monkeys of the 'footballing board' serving up punch line after punch line.

I'd personally like to see us give Cisse the boot and bring in someone with English experience and a bit of passion. I'd not want to spend huge because I think Mitrovic will come good, Perez should be kept and we have Adam Armstrong. Someone reliable without being a world beater would actually suffice, to carry some of the burden. Austin, Gray, Hernandez.

Agree with all that. I'd be happy with someone proven (Austin/Remy) who could hit the ground running.

When we get Armstrong back we need to be prepared to give him a proper opportunity.

Actually one of the best deals could well be a loan. Not a fan of Remy coming back, but Joel Campbell could do a hell of a job if Wenger would give us 4 months! Same deal for Austin with option to buy, maybe?

To be honest, I can't stand Remy, but he'd do a good job for us. I support the shirt, not the lazy overpaid sods who wear them.

Linked with Bendtner now. Ffs. We need a striker who can score goals, not wreck cars when pissed.

Some positive vibes about our new lads here...

Newcastle is closing in on the purchase of Bordeaux midfielder Henri Saivet for just five million pounds
Newcastle hasn’t been known for making great transfer purchases as of late, but perhaps their fortunes are about to change. They are closing in on the signature of Bordeaux midfielder Henri Saivet for five million pounds which would be an excellent piece of business.
Frankly, I’m surprised there isn’t more interest in the Senegalese midfielder at this price. He’s been one of Bordeaux’s best players this season and has been a real standout in Ligue 1 play. Purchasing such a quality player for just five million pounds may well represent one of the best deals of the January window.

Saivet has been the second best statistically rated player on Bordeaux this season behind the highly-rated Wahbi Kazri per Whoscored.com. He boasts an impressive player rating of 7.31 in 18 matches. The high level of his play in France should translate well to an above average Premier League player immediately for Newcastle. He might not be the most dynamic player going forward, but he is a quality box-to-box midfielder who plays with maximum effort.

You might wonder why he’s available for such a small fee if he’s such a talented player. The answer is rather simple. He only has 18 months left in his contract so Bordeaux needs to act now if they’re going to receive any sort of substantial fee for the player.
Expect him to adjust to life at Newcastle rather quickly upon his arrival. He should be an immediate upgrade in the defensive midfield over Vurnon Anita who’s played entirely too often for the club given his mediocre performance.
This is exactly the type of purchase Newcastle needs to make if they intend to stay in the Premier League. The addition of Saivet and potentially Jonjo Shelvey will remake the Newcastle midfield in a big way.
