Your ego is only surpassed by your foul insults. I also have a very close relative with terminal cancer.

I never said it was a disease it's a medical condition, admittedly initially brought on by drug abuse, in the same way my Type 1 diabetes is a medical condition not a disease but is caused by my body rejecting my own insulin but is different to Type 2 which is basically brought on by food abuse.

Raw nerves hit in some of the discourse here ... dealing with terminal cancer is so stressful . Cyber hug and handshake from me .
Superhorns , i suspect you did not intend to be unpleasant in the way it was received .
This form of communication can be crap as we cannot read body language or facial expressions . I hope we all have a fair measure of decency on here .

For goodness sake Superhorns, this site, and the BBC one, has operated for years without personal abuse to other members. This is what has made it different to some of the other club's sites. Please, before you get your fingers typing just stop and think if you really wish to upset Hornet fans. We all have family and friends with illness, and wish we could do something to help, but to be abusive is unlikely to make anything better. We can all say what we believe is the right way forward for the club or country, but we do not have to take the view that ours is the only way for things to go. There are many things you say say that I agree with and others I don't, but I hope that I will never give you personal abuse.

I certainly did not intend any unpleasantness in the way Leo took my comment. It was just a 'humorous' throwaway line. Apologies if any offence caused although posters cannot insult others without a little bit coming back their way.

Lets try to keep it friendly.

OFH can you re-read his abusive comments before making a judgement. Nobody agrees with everything people say, what we don't need is the insults as dished out by Leo.

Offence was caused to Leo ...but I could see it was not intended in the way it was received .
In the past , in "real life " , I have on more than one occasion , blown my top when stressed up to the eye balls ....

There should be no place on this forum for actions like Leo calling another poster a CUN*.

I can only imagine the furore if I had lowered myself to that level.

I think it is very clear that this was massively out of character . As it happens had you used that word I would have thought the same.

True, he just treads the line when it comes to insults to try and keep some vague semblance of holding the moral high ground whilst antagonising everyone he can.

    It's quite a skill <applause>

Yes I have read back and there is one comment you made that had it been addressed to me would have made me bite. All I am asking for, and it applies to everyone, is that we think about what we say before publishing it.

I don't think anyone on here would object if our sponsor was Rocket Records.

I've never understood why 'offensive' language bothers people so much, films/books/TV/etc are full of expletives yet that seems fine.

I get far more annoyed by people mocking things I believe in than calling me an x/y/z, but maybe it's just a generational thing? I'd never swear in front of my parents but nearly all my friends/relatives of my age have no issues with swearing.

This was an interesting topic to discuss. It is a shame that it has turned out the way it has. Leo must be under incredible stress at the moment. I feel for him. I think it is understandable that he loses it, sometimes. Superhorns can be abrasive, but I suspect that is just an aspect of a forceful character, I doubt if there is any real malice.

Sometimes it is nice being a wet liberal!

You probably would not have taken kindly to the comment that you had just 'developed a moral conscience' or called a CUN*. I look forward to your balanced response to the actual offender.

We need a lively debate but without anyone resorting to insults. Can this be a new year's resolution?

I will not go further apart from saying that I would have taken offence to an earlier comment you made. Agreed that a lively debate can take place on all sorts of subjects and we can do it in a friendly way. I did say that my comments applied to all.

Please kindly enlighten me, there was no earlier 'comment' apart from asking for evidence for outlandish claims regarding respectable sponsors.

My experience on this forum is like a kid starting a new school and learning the hard way not to mix it with the 'cool' kids and the prefects.
