Thanks for doing that, I'm not going to bother anymore since the 'bangladeshi kids should be happy they have jobs' comment. (I know I've said it before, but he really irritates me, I'm definitely stopping now)
It's not too bad, nothing special but it's definitely better than the Fosters/Carling/recovered sewage water most pubs serve in the UK
Can you provide evidence to back up your claims? How you can compare these companies to the obvious damage that betting and payday loan firms do to our society is astonishing.
Are you 'avin'a larf? YOU !!!! - asking for back up evidence - I've heard it all now. Plus please detail the "claims" you think I made. Try reading what other people write. I said I was sure I could find reasons to question your list. In your millionaire life I am sure you do not need payday loans or the release that a bit of a bet now and then can give. Not everyone is as fortunate. However if this thread is evidence that you have at last developed a moral conscience and now see the damage lack of money does to some people's lives and that maybe the state has a role in controlling some aspects then I guess there is hope for us all yet.
It is you my friend that lacks a moral conscience if you cannot see that many homes are wrecked by excessive borrowing and betting. How can you be so idiotic to support payday loans? Do you say the opposite to be contrary or is it an ego thing?
I must confess I don't like all the advertising for gambling on Sky and I'm pretty sure that other sponsors are not squeaky clean either but at the end of the day it comes down to the strength of character of the individuals concerned. Somebody mentioned that alcoholism is not a disease but it is well documented it is a medical condition as is all drug abuse.
No it's not. Doing something because you enjoy doing it is not a disease. Doing it so often than it changes the wiring in your brain is not a disease, it's not infectious, it's just a habit you're creating. Doing something so often that it ruins your life is not a disease, it's just a lack of willpower and the result of years of changing the wiring in your brain. The US lawyers came up with this 'disease' excuse to get people out of trouble. It also allows weak-minded people to have a ready-made excuse for their failures. PS: I'm speaking from experience here
While on a moral topic , some useless information ... I was listening to a BBC World service documentary podcast this afternoon ...Apparently , daily in Germany 400,000 prostitutes service a million punters . One brothel houses 800 girls ... although I have never looked for "entertainment" from such ladies , I would feel more comfortable seeing " Happy Hookers " on Watford shirts than some poxy betting company ....that's always assuming they are happy and not forced / pressured to do the job .
I am totally opposed to payday loans - I would regulate interest rates - but I was pointing out that to some they are an unfortunate lifeline - unless you can tell those people how to find an alternative. It does not take much to get you to to revert to type does it. A Mod might take you to task for in effect calling another member an idiot. I guess it is your warped sense of humour as you finish on what is clearly your own forte,
A mod might take you to task for suggesting a fellow poster had just developed a moral conscience. You are in no position to judge me or anybody else. You would do better by condemning payday loan sharks and suggesting well known alternatives like credit unions. You really need to separate humour from your fantasies.
Some good points, it runs out at the end of 2016 (our sponsor) so maybe the club will change it. It doesn´t sit well with the "family club" image, I´ll bet this has been thought of by the owners.
Yes I apologise for suggesting you had a moral conscience - how remiss of me. You really have no idea at all how the other half live do you - a desperate person can go to a credit union in a hurry can they?
It must be a bundle of fun living with you. You obviously do not understand or do not care about the problems caused by desperate people borrowing from loan sharks, you have already said these people waste their money, what arrogance!. Building up viable alternatives such as credit unions and providing financial education is vital. What they don't need is borrowing from crooks and the ability to lose money with ease by gambling using their mobiles. In the good old days at least you had to find a betting shop to lose your shirt.
Careful - I take personal comments even though you are a c*nt but leave my wife / family out of it. You know she has terminal cancer so if you think anything in my life is fun you are a bigger fool than you pretend to be. End for me for now
