well yes probably, but what's that got to do with my comment about him not being encouraged by what he's seen since he's been back? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Koeman's master plan. Say the academy is rubbish to fend off the triple threat of his nemesis LVG, Arsene 'Hiding in that bush' Wenger and Mauricio 'I have Paul Mitchell now' Pochetino.

All is forgiven Ron, we can see what you were doing now.

On a more serious note, Koeman didn't mention Hesketh. Is he definitely 'not close'?

For me having seen him play alot of games, Hesketh has stepped up this year. He seems to be the go to guy more this season. The only thing that I think is holding him is he needs to bulk up. But then light weight players have turned out good enough before.

He did say in pre-season he's expecting big things from Jack Stephens.

Yep. It gets a little worrying when the clubs around you start to strengthen. Yet we haven't even heard a rumour.

And not with crazy money deals as is our reasoning for not getting too involved in the January window.

Expect Everton to wrap that one up then.
Or any number of clubs other than Saints.

Perhaps they're tightening up on leaks, as Saints are the trawler in the seagull/trawler analogy. Clubs like Spurs are seagulls.
    Total silence isn't always bad.

Agree Beefy; interesting comments by Wenger today saying to buy now to secure safety in the EPL with the huge windfall at the end of this season. I do feel we should be investing now given our current state of affairs - an injection of new players to push competition and improve quality

What the **** Bournemouth! They've signed Grabban from Norwich for 7mill a day after signing Afobe for 10mill!

7mill for Grabban is a complete waste of money when they have Afobe, King, Murray, Stanislas and Wilson will be back at some point.

I don't disagree but perhaps understand the sentiment. We payed what 12M for Long because we were desperate for attacking options...

Although I think the fee for Grabban is vastly over-priced, I can see a lot of logic behind what Bournemouth are doing. By signing Afobe and Grabban up, they give themselves a chance of surviving but at the same know that they two guys who could do a job for them in the Championship next season should the fail to stay up. But with Iturbe, who is the one with no Championship experience and is probably the higher earner, they've gone down the loan with a view to buy path - effectively allowing them to cut their losses with him should they go down.

Fair play to them for giving it go though. I think I'd be most nervous right now if I were a Norwich fan. Us and Swansea both have the capabilities of turning our form around, and pulling clear of 18th. For me, if any of the bottom three were to escape, it would most likely come at Norwich's or Bournemouth's expense. So to see Bournemouth strengthening...
