Question for Leeds fans

I'd like to know where this is heading, as would my fellow mods.

If we cant be trusted to make decisions why are we here at all?

I've been modding this site for about 5 years now and we have had three bannings. Hardly mini Hitlers are we?

The last case in point was a very tough decision. Damned if we do, damned if we dont. We were losing posters, warnings were ignored hand was forced.

Just to add to my previous post no one has any idea how hard we worked behind the scenes to get Mike to comply to avoid a banning.

It appears he had a problem with authority as wasnt used to be told what to do. We didnt just say, do this or you banned and then banned him when he didnt. It was nowhere near as black and white as that.

NO LEEDS MOD WANTS TO SEE A LEEDS FAN BANNED. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made.

 

In this case I didn't think a life ban was fair but have voted yes and am happy to trust in our mods view as they were more involved than me and are all good,fair, blokes.Can you block them seeing the last bit their heads are big enough.

 

Unless I am very much mistaken, lives in Harrogate and has a thing for Red clothing! Can't say too much because he denied it last week

 

I think we can discuss this on the moderators board if you start a thread there - although I would like to see how the vote reads on here first

Basically Whitejock's thread asked questions of the Supermods which we are discussing & I want to see the size of the problem on here both from those people who state their views loudly & often & those who don't - to get a flavour of what is going on for myself

If you think it is hard to make decisions at moderator level - you should try being a super-mod

 

Minxy. I'd echo that it is a difficult question. My whole upbringing is "freedom of speech" but as Marcos says, the point of the mods is to stop the board degenerating into constant irritating argument.
For me, I guess one person can kill a board by being constantly devisive, (just like in a dressing room, Leeds last season?), some have said use the ignore button or don't read the posts but what is the point of joining a forum if you feel you can't comment or respond to posters.
If people have stopped posting because of one person , then I echo that the certain poster needs to alter behaviour as it's clearly not an issue with one person and tells you all you need to know. A forum can't survive without posters.
That said, to be fair, I never really had any issues with 60.

Ah but if someone was incredibly annoying and posters started to leave, how long do you leave it before banning that annoying poster.

I wouldn't have quit this board over Leeds60 but let's say 10 posters who I enjoyed following did, then I might think what's the point visiting or posting, you would of eventually lost me due to the annoyable but not directly...

Absolutely yes. He was damaging the enjoyment of the board and he needed to go. I can't believe some of you are so soft. He had a million chances to change his tune but never did.

 

Im quite happy to have it out in the open if I am honest. I think clarity via transparency is the best way of showing our board that we have their best interests at heart and there is no hidden agenda
