To be fair, if anybody from a different industry went on tv and seriously did an interview in broken English as if he was foreign, he would struggle to get a job in Pizza Hut, never mind one managing people again.
McClaren hasn't made any progress results wise. He probably shouldn't be the Head Coach, and certainly hasn't shown any degree of managerial sense. In any normal circumstances he'd be replaced, but this is Newcastle United, with the Unholy Trinity of Ashley/Penfold/Carr. Will he be sacked? Most likely Not..... Even if he is.......who Next? I shouldn't be surprised, but after the fans eventually got Pardew to sling his hook and were rewarded with Carver, and then got their wish for Carver to be got rid, that many still have this blind faith in Ashley to employ a Football Manager, change his ways and do the right thing........baffling really, and I can only put it down to their undying trust in him and his cronies.....a love-in perhaps.
All of them.......... why not? If Penfold and Carr suddenly become world class at what they do and they hand pick a select bunch of players that turn us into a quality side then ill gladly give them credit. Until that happens my venom will be directed at them. They are both promoted well beyond their ability, but they have been pretty much the only constant, along with Ashley, throughout this whole debacle. Its too easy to just blame a manager, get rid, blame the next manager, get rid.................... but when he is having second rate, third tier 'footballers' foisted on him is it really ALL his fault? I'm no McClaren cheerleader but I do have a little sympathy for the guy. Trying to get a tune out of our disjointed squad is not easy.
Almost the same here, but I have no sympathy for McClaren at all, he knew what he was getting and gladly took the cheque. What he does get is very little BLAME. But not one of them gets a lick of sympathy, all five of them (throw Moncur in, where's that lickspittle been the last 3 months?!?!) want throwing in the sea.
McClaren has got his tactics spot on the last few games. It's not his fault that players have missed their chances.
? ? ? Really? The team spent the first half of the game yesterday looking at the bench as no one had a clue what there roles were in the 'new' five man defence. This was a formation to cope with Igalo.... Who didn't start. Now in any coaching job surely the basics are, that you can communicate to a team and.. Well.. Erm coach them?
No doubt that the players were coached to perfection on the training pitch with the new five man defence but were somewhat lost as to what to do when someone who could actually attack came at them. If the Newcastle defence spend their time training by defending against the Newcastle attack is it any wonder that they're hopeless?
I'm not a mac fan and I agree his tactics yesterday were ****e but the strikers should be hitting the back of the net.....villa,everton,westbrom are all games we should of collected points from but due to the misses we got sweet fa.
Should have won at Arsenal, if Mitrovic could finish and Wijnaldum had had his shooting boots on, oh and if it wasn't for Cech we would have done.
Latest gems from the mouth of our 'Head Coach' ; "We've had two disappointing performances, Leicester and Crystal Palace, but since then the attitude has been fantastic, we've scored goals and won games, but the last four we haven't scored goals," he added. "I can understand everyone is frustrated and angry, we have to be patient, we have to use our experience. "Various things will have to happen for that to turn." Insightful and utterly worthless. I think the last one is the best. "Various things..." Really? Wow.
I disagree. The first line was the best. "We've scored goals and won games, except in the last four."
We've scored goals? When? Norwich who were dogshit on the day. Liverpool who were woeful. Tottenham who we caught off guard and fluked a win? Other than that: Swansea - 0-2 Arsenal 0-1 Man Utd 0-0 Sunderland 0-3 West Ham 0-1 Sheff Wed 0-1 Leicester 0-3 Watford 0-1 Everton 0-1 Stoke 0-0 West Brom 0-1 Arsenal 0-1 Aye Stevie Boy. We're scoring goals.
