That's why I don't understand why we had him instead of the last instalment for Joe.

Unfortunately we're on a slippery path at the moment and sadly spiralling towards the championship. Monk had to go there very little doubt about that, but the board needed to grasp the bull by the horns and but they haven't, they've just taken the easy route. Financial constraints on the club ( set by Huw and the board may I add)
particularly in the transfer market are plummeting us to relegation. Giving Curt the task of keeping us in the premiership is tantamount to admitting defeat. He has almost no experience of management and to be fair if he had shown any desire to move in to management surely he would have done so many years ago not forced into it at 61 years of age. To have any realistic chance of staying in the premiership the board need to bring in an experienced manager NOW and more importantly bring in at least one top striker, to do this is easy spend the money, unfortunately it just won't happen.

I agree totally to nearly everything you say sbulby except that monk should have gone, If they had listened to monk in the first place and let him bring a striker in we would not be heading for the lower leagues....but a manager is a must if we are to salvage anything, curtis wont as he has already showed his lack of experience already.......

    One thing stood out today.

There's not much strength in depth in the squad.Amount of monies been spent on acadamies etc.

    My opinion of course.

Accept my proposal then. I can't say 100% whether we'll stay up or go down atm. You however are certain we are down so what do you have to lose?

Monk's appointment was a huge mistake, no experience in any kind of management let alone managing in the top tier. Our top player was sold and the squad were surreptitiously stripped of Spanish flair and inferior players such as Tabanou and Eder brought in as replacements. Existing players such as Tiendalli were dumped then inexplicably rehired on a new 3 year contract which ended in us having to pay him off. Others such as Bartley are still here and he showed today he is not even good enough for League 2 (old Div 4).
Instead of learning from our mistakes we then did the same thing again, took the cheap option and appointed from within, with another rookie management team.
Today we saw the inept Bartley made captain by our naive manager, together with ten others who looked as if they'd just met on the bus up from Swansea. There was no shape, no tactics, no will to win, and nobody on the subs bench of any quality to come on and change things. They couldn't string any passes together and couldn't hold on to the ball in possession. The defence was schoolboy standard, the midfield was non existent and they made Oxford look like the PL side.
Unless AC can change character and stick a squib up the players backsides for Wednesday and the rest of the season, I fear the worst.

So far Curt has had six games in charge - 1 home win, 1 home draw, 1 away draw & 3 away defeats.

The next 2 home games are vital - 4 points minimum (the 3 pts preferably need to come on Wednesday)

None of us wants Curt to be our John Carver......

Not a Curtis thing , it's a Jenkins thing imo . I'm sure Curtis didn't want to take the controls under such scrutiny but what chioce did he have given the stupidity of Jenkins not to hire a manager after the Norwich game when someone might actually want the job .
I still believe Curtis will straighten the road to summer , I won't even blame him for the pitiful line up played today , like Monk against Everton , both may have been under orders of someone who doesn't know anything but yields to much power where he shouldn't .

    Nothing wrong with Curt's selection, everything wrong with some of the performances served up by certain individuals;

    Nordfeldt - 6
Showed he's a decent shot stopper, not too solid under the crosses today but overall he was decent

    Shepherd - 5
Not going to be harsh on the boy on his debut....did some good things but also a lot bad....if Naughton had played like that with his experience the score would have been a 3

    Bartley - 4
I'm sorry, he is not learning and is not good enough. Needed to take charge of Shepherd, instead he seemed to opt for trying to put out fires...which he failed at. Reckless in general.

    Amat - 6
Didn't do a lot wrong for me and most importantly played as if he gave a ****.

    Tabannou - 4
Showed some ability on the ball and a desire to attack. Got into some bad positions though and didn't get tight enough quick enough to their right-winger....but the boy is clearly not fit. THIS IS GARRY MONK'S FAULT.

    (Kingsley - 6)
(Looked up to speed, defended well and got forward at every opportunity. Promising.)

    Cork - 5
Didn't play well by his standards, he did dwell on the ball and give some possession away cheaply....but as others have pointed out, the movement around him was non-existant. Piss poor in midfield we were.

    Grimes - 4
Would be a 3 if he wasn't a youngster. Not impressed. Wants too much time, too many touches, weak....passive almost....and looks to me like a show pony. For the money we paid and his supposed pedigree, and against L2 opposition that performance was not ****ing good enough. I hope he proves me wrong down the line.

    Shelvey - -1
    **** off Jonjo.
Shooting from distance at every opportunity, in the first 10 minutes! Losing the ball. Looked for the hollywood ball every ****ing time. Not working, zero ****ing effort. Powder puff tackling. What is now trademark; not tracking back, standing still pointing at others to shuffle across to close space down....TELLING HIS TEAM MATES TO DO HIS ****ING JOB!!! I used to play in the centre of the park and he is never a centre-midfielder as long as I have a hole in my arse. Nevermind a ****ing international. STUPID ****ing decisions (no wonder Dai likes him). HOOKING THE BALL 30 YARDS UP IN THE SKY EVERY CHANCE HE GOT, in the first ****ing half....as if we were ****ing clinging on!
Did anyone else notice (of course, everyone must have...) those few seconds, that seemed like minutes, when Shelvey stood on the edge of our box with his ****ing hands on his knees.....bent over like a ****ing old man....while L2 Oxford passed the ball around him with 5 mins left, 3-2 down!
GET OUT YOU DAFT BALD **** FOR BRAINS.
I am ****ing amazed that another club would pay good money for him. Today was supposed to be his ****ing chance.
Can't believe he's been here 2 ****ing years and he still needs to be coached to pass it simple, quickly, and ****ing move. MOVE DAMN IT. You ****ing slug.

    Emnes - 4
Lovely pass for the first goal but today was one of his poorest performances. Didn't help Shepherd out neither.

    (Barrow - 6)
(Looked sharp when he came on and created the chance to equalise for Gomis, (which Gomis should have buried) received ****/**** all service.)

    Montero - 5
Great pace, great goal, still makes bad decisions and offers very little defensively. Should be scoring more goals. We need to help him to do this....making the ball stick up front would be a good start.

    Gomis - 2
...and the 2 is for the goal. There are 2 Gomis' (I keep hoping a goal or two and some love from the fans might re-spark his interest). One is a decent player but unfortunately for 90% of his time here we have seen the Gomis of today...
Lazy. Terrible touch. Terrible passer. Thick (the offside rule FFS!). Bad attitude. Weak.
I hope and pray we can offload him for a minimal loss this month.

The players let themselves down today. When we were 1-nil up we just needed some composure. Hint - keep the ball by moving it (and your ****ing arses) quickly 1 and 2 touch football.
They let Curt down also and some of them should be ashamed of themselves.
From that team only Barrow, Kingsley and Amat were trying to put their hands up for inclusion midweek. Still believe Montero, Cork, Tabannou and Nordfeldt have a future with us also.

Part of the reason that team was so **** of course is because of Monk's criminal, inept, management of our playing staff prior to his sacking. In my time attending Swans games NO manager has left a bigger mess to clear up, done so much damage, lost us so much money.
and Curt will have my full, unstinting, support for as long as he needs it.

Last paragrah speaks volumes .....you can't expect much throwing guys on without minutes ...all at once .
If Curtis said nothing I would be ok , but to be disappointed with the loss from a team he says he expected to win was a bit puzzling for me .
