Did West Brom buy Chester for the FA Cup?

His girlfriend/wife is on Twitter. Often, she digs here and there about his lack of game time or the fact she's left her job in Hull for this.

My heart bleeds for her. It must be so hard to get by with just one earner in the family.. on a Premier League wage.

The problem with him not playing is he is putting his place in the Welsh squad at risk. I would at least have thought West Brom would allow him out on loan some where out of decency. He risks the chance of missing out representing his country in the Euros.

The bright lights or Dudley tempted him and he fell for it.
Let that be a lesson to these footballers that the grass is not always on the other side.

He didn't have an option, we needed to sell some players to recoup money following relegation. Chester was one of a few saleable assets. How would he know the footballing genius that is Pulis was buying a centre half with the intention of playing him at right back.

I don't think they can really let him out on loan even if they have just decided they want him for cup games or injury cover.
It's a shame, but hey ho. I don't think 'decency' is a common currency in football, and to fair to them they paid the money, they own him and they can do what they like regarding his game time
Players are business assets now I'm afraid
You're right about the Wales squad of course, and if we were to get him on loan then that would be great, but that would a business decision for West Brom simple as that

(Anyway we don't want Wales to be good anyway!)

Other clubs have let players go out on loan so they don't lose their place in an international side.

On the other hand, perhaps it might indicate that it is football he wants, at the highest level that will test him, and not just the money (which most of us would want, wouldn't we?)
I can also understand her giving up her job and colleagues, which it seemed she loved, to follow and support her husband - mine did it, so I can totally understand. Having seen that level of personal sacrifice, I can easily understand why she feels they have both been cheated. Good for her.

    Yeah I know
I just don't think it can be expected
I wouldn't be happy if we did it, certainly not someone who we paid a lot of money for

He could have said I don't want to go couldn't he? He wasn't forced out. He thought he was bettering himself (can't blame him for that). He can't whinge about it though as it was his choice. That's the point I am making

When a club accepts an offer, the writing is on the wall, regardless of what the player may or may not want.

Absolutely no danger of him losing his Wales squad place for Euro 2016.

His starting spot will be in danger, though.

WAS on twitter. She's closed her account after getting abuse from Baggie fans about Chester. She also regularly had a dig about his lack of chance in the team.

Moral of the story is - don't go public on social media.
