Newcastle were odds on favourites to sign N'Zogbia before Villa piped up and we were 5/4 to sign Berbatov at one stage too, make of that what you will. I think the trader at Sky knows that someone has put money on it and they aren't interested in getting hammered on transfer betting. Still though, would be a good signing for you lot as you can guarantee he'd score in both games against Newcastle <ok>!

    I havent mate.

However, I have been saying it for weeks now. CNZ will be a Sunderland player next season. Its all about Whelan being a bit more realistic and getting the money EVERYONE is happy with or they will lose the player for nowt in 12 months and have a pissed off player on their hands in the meantime.

    I hope your right cest

Wigan also want most if not all of the money up front and they are asking 10m.

I say offer 8m for him cash up front and get the deal done the lads is worth it.

To be honest Cest I think you are just lying and plucking things out of the air to look big................
Sorry mate was hacked by News International or as they are known on here Big Chris.
Still think this has dragged on too long now and we should be looking for either another LW or a striker (hopefully both). I just can't see him dropping his wage demands unless there is some sort of clause in his contract about a pay increase if we win something. A good player there is no doubt but personally sick to the back teeth of getting dicked around by him for the last 3 seasons.

In what way has he actually been 'dicking' us around for 3 seasons talc? We may well have been linked with the player for some time but he was under a long term contract at Wigan and they refused to sell him whenever we made approaches? Thats not the players fault is it?

Plus, how do you know its actually the players wage demands that are holding up this deal? I get the distinct impression its all about Whelan and Quinn not agreeing on the price for a player with 12 months to go on his contract? Its the £10m thats the sticking point not wages. The newspaper speculation about what he is paid now and what he may or may not want is pure works of fiction. Does anyone actually believe what he tabloid's say anymore? Surely not.

As for dragging on, we dont even know if we have made an official bid yet and the transfer window has only been open for a few weeks? In comparison to the Tevez, Nasri and Fabregas deals, this is just a baby yet.

With some 5 weeks still to go in the window, whats the problem with this one going another 2 or 3 weeks exactly if we were to get our man?

If we manage to offload several fringe players (we know who they are) it wouldn't surprise me if we mada a double swoop late on at Wigan, but twill depend on the balance of moving players "out" to get some "in" - perhaps even part exchange!
Bruce has a lot of respect for some players which he has previously signed or worked with.

    Perhaps Figueroa and N'Zog ..........
    :)

Would Figgy play for you instead of Bardsley then?

I cant see us signing a left back ot replace Bardo persoanally and if he was to move back to right back, what is Browns postion to be? I see Brown as the first choice right back or why bring him here with Muhammady as back up? Bramble, Ferdinand, O Shea and Turner will fight it out for central places and Bardo as first choice left back with Richardson as back up.

N'Zog yes, Figgy not so bothered.

I agree, we'd certainly have a bit more freedom in the transfer market if we could off-load a few, but and it's a big BUT .... nobody seems to want them!

if you read his convo's on twitter with a wigan fan called sophie ( i know, an actual Wigan fan, i was shocked too) he kept referring to wigan in the past sense and said he did enjoy his time there so it looks as if hes definatly moving somewhere and maybe he already knows where, probs villa, but theres always hope

Okay then Cest he may not have been dicking us around so it was Wigan who have then why are we dealing with them?
Bruce has been linked with him since he came to us mate 3 seasons (yes it does seem longer) and, if we haven't put a bid in how will we get him?
As for his wages just going on media reports and t'internet heard everything from 50k to 70k a week so 60k looks a good bet. Still 5 weeks till the window closes I know but lets try something drastic at SAFC and get our players in and sorted now instead of hoping they settle straight away. Still don't think he'll come to us as he'll go for the high wages not blaming him for that who wouldn't, just can't see us paying top wages for him as good as he is most games.
