How is Southampton's cup run going ?

Hope you enjoy watching the draw on Monday, shame you aren't in it !

saints fans who take the piss is actually quite laughable as they are a mid table feeder club who have not won anything in a very long time.

Try to keep your chin up as your pride is at stake :)

Well said, Saints. And very true.

You name me one season when Arsenal have not been humiliated in the CL. It's the same every season! But when they get completely spanked by Barca, their league form always go on a spiral downward.

This is a bizarre thread. I don't think I know one Arsenal fan that thinks they WILL win the league and, barring you building up a big lead and blowing it at the death, I don't expect most of them to go into meltdown

More to the point, if I was a Saints fan I would be more concerned about my own club - and as a Watford fan I'm wumming no one as it has a habit of coming back to bite!

  5. Dan, what you've got to understand is that, on the Prem board, predicting when Arsenal will take their first humiliating spanking in the CL has become something of a sport. This season, they've already had a couple, but have, somehow, managed to wriggle through the net to qualify for the knockout stage.

And, blow me! they only go and draw Barca in the very first knockout round!
    <laugh>

    It's simply too funny!

They are going to get mullered! We know it, and they know it; it's all just a matter of "by how much, and what lasting psychological damage will it do?"

And the delicious thing is, there will be many Gooners, especially on this site, who will secretly be believing that Arsenal can get through this. They're not so stupid as to say anything, but the likes of Arsenal87 (and a certain mod whose name I won't mention, because that would be unfair) will be storing up their brag-wums, and praying for the chance to unleash them. Knowing that they'll never get that chance is hilarious!

Did you not get spanked by real Madrid in your one and only champions league campaign?

  7. We were out-played by a side that was expected out-play us. I think the way we performed was in line with the legitimate expectations of the average knowledgeable fan. We didn't get spanked any harder than was expected.

With Arsenal, however, and especially that infamous game against Barca, the experience was truly embarrassing. It represents a true black mark for English football. The worry that I, and many English fans have, is that that humiliation will be excelled during the forthcoming debacle.

It didn't help having to play virtually the whole game at the Bernabeu with ten men. We dominated the return leg, but it was too late by then.

  9. Exactly, NSS!

Whereas, whenever Arsenal play Barca, it's always one-way traffic, both legs.

Messi - who has bagged yet another hat-trick - must be licking his lips at the prospect of playing Arsenal!

Even though I am an Englishman and must partake in Arsenal's pending humiliation, part of me is, nonetheless, fascinated to discover just how bad this train-crash is going to be.

  11. All joking aside, you must harbour some concerns about your pending encounter with Barca?

Why would I harbor any concerns, as a football fan you want your team to play against the best, the excitement leading up to the game, the nerves of wondering what will happen, why on earth would that concern me? It will be a great occasion win, lose or draw.

Are you seriously telling me of you had the choice of playing barca in the CL or whoever you have in the europa, you would rather see spurs play in the europa? Everyone, including yourself claimed Chelsea would get destroyed by barca in 2012, and look how that ended.

Normally I completely ignore the nonsense you post as it's barely worth the time to laugh at you, however as a man of education I'm sure you like to be pulled up on your glaringly obvious mistakes and as such I thought it necessary to point out that both times we have played Barca in a two legged CL tie in recent history we have still been in the game by the second leg. We beat them 2-1 and drew 2-2 in our first leg ties against them. In fact we only lost one of those two legged affairs heading into the end of the game when RVP was sent off for kicking the ball away, so Barca struggled to get passed us that year and it was only the most shocking ref decision I have ever seen in football...ever, that stopped us going through. Even when they beat us in the final we got a red card and still almost beat them. The only game against Barca we have been demolished was the 4-1 when Messi was absolutely on fire, otherwise we've always given them very good games.

If your going to be a wum at least be accurate and not such a failure. Dissapointed in your clear lack of effort, try harder in future or don't try at all.

You can't moan about the decision to send off van Persie while hailing your goal in the final, as that came from a clear dive.
One decision was harsh, while the other was just wrong.

I can moan about whatever I like! Worst ref decision I have ever seen in my life, sending off a player for having a shot while offside having not heard the whistle which went as he was shooting, absolutely ridiculous from the officials. Never have I seen such stupidity on a football field.

No excuses! We most probably would have lost the tie. But playing Real at the Bernabeu with ten men is a lost cause!..

You can moan about whatever you want, but it just makes you look like a hypocrite.
Talking up one gift from the officials while bemoaning one that went the other way against the same opposition? Really?

As for it being the worst decision ever, I think even you know that's not true.
It was harsh, but van Persie clearly knew what he was doing. He knew he'd been flagged offside and kicked it anyway.
It's nowhere near some of the ludicrous **** that we've seen given, though.

Before you get too excited go back and read my post again and realise I didn't even mention the goal your proclaiming I have hailed the goal in the final. Not a single mention of it from me. Your the one who chose to bring up that goal and compare the two ref decisions. Ergo, nothing hypocritical from me, thanks for your concern. You read my post and realised your pal HIAG had failed again so thought you'd jump in and try and make the gooner look silly, unfortunately with no real material you resorted to making things up which has ended up making you look rather silly instead!

P.s. Worst ref decision I have ever seen.

You're right, I mistook you for Enigma. I apologise.

The idea that it's the worst decision ever is just ludicrous, though. There will have been worse this weekend.
Having the wrong player sent off is worse and that's just one against you, off the top of my head.
