Check out Kunt and the gang. Michael jackson tribute. Lyrics are class.

Michael Jackson. Born black. Died white. In the middle he fiddled with kids.

No, but this song is a classic. Non Elvis fans appreciate it as his best work imo. Funny thing is, this is the only song that made me reconsider Elvis. I always thought less of him than I should have.

I just see him as a huge star. The biggest the world has known. He will never be surpassed on the famous scale.

Yet still im not a big fan. I acknowledge he was very good at what he did. Still think Orbison had a better voice.

Oh, agree completely. That stardom killed him as well. Very sad.

He was akin to a present day Disney Child Star in adult form. Get him singing and acting, other people profit while he ruins himself under an illusion of self grandeur created by yes men, crafty suits and millions of screaming little girls.

It's happened many times since Elvis and will happen many more times to come. It's the Evil of the entertainment industry.

Not that Com will read this but Orbison was Elvis' favorite artist. Roy wrote and produced his own music. It's sad that Roy never got the full stardom he deserved because of Elvis, a manufactured artist. Mind you his peers weren't fooled and in Music circles Orbison was profoundly more successful.

Aye loads of people can sing mate. It alone doesn't rock my world. My lady can sing like an angel, I'm a bigger fan of her than Elvis.

Elvis, a voice so unique millions of people all over the planet make a good living imitating it. Without the acting and the marketing his voice would have got him nowhere like it gets so many people who can sing nowhere. Just my opinion of course but the mans legacy was a complete illusion manufactured by suits. I've more respect for Take That, at least they write some of their own songs

One of my favorite albums is Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell.
Jim Stienman wrote all the songs. Brilliant work.
Stienman however, couldn't sing for Jack ****.
A brilliant writer may need another's brilliant voice to convey his work.
Having the ability to write beautiful music & having the ability to beautifully sing it are two different things.

Not one of the Beatles could even read sheet music.

I agree Though Elvis' voice was far from Brilliant(Just my opinion)

I don't get your point in relation to mine though. My point is he got far more recognition then he deserved in relation to the work of his peers. It's not what Elvis did himself. I'm sure he was nice man just doing what he loved.

I know there are many songwriters who don't sing. They rarely get the credit they deserve imo. Instead the faux garnish face of the project gets it. That's all Elvis was to me. Record Company Garnish.

The last bit about Sheet music. It's bollocks. Not your comment. Sheet music I mean. James Brown was once told by one of his own band members that Cold Sweat didn't work because the Drums were out of time with the rest of the instruments. James brown told him that all instruments are drums, every one has their drum and when everybody plays their drum, all that matters is does it sound good? Structure and rules are overrated imo, but then my favorite music has a huge jazz element.

    I digress though.

Elvis the performer was not a singular entity for me. He was a fusion of many peoples work, a marketing piece which cashed in on the dawning of a golden generation in music and film. Elvis was no genius, the man behind them were, and even then only in terms of making money.

Think you need to define who you mean by everybody. Don't know what you're on about mate.
