It would be lunacy if the problems rumoured are true. If these are not true and the Board have strong relationship with Koeman, they have the same beliefs and belief in him, then it's not lunacy. It could be called looking at the big picture. The board may know that some players are causing problems and were planning to move them out. This is all ifs and you and I don't know, so we can't point to lunacy or not.
OK. I am feeling positive at the moment. We sign a striker, jayvrod and forster return. We start scoring freely and fly up the table. We sell no players in the summer, RK let's the board and us know He will honour his current contract but will not sign an extension, we gat a suitable replacement lined up and almost everyone is happy.
Stability is a good thing surely. We've not been woefully bad as a team recently were just in a slump, it happens, it sucks admittedly but that's football sometimes you lose. I think getting behind Ron, letting him have a proper crack at this team is the right answer to the question of us improving to the next level.
Exactly...a few wins and we're back up there again...Win the next two winnable games and things start looking brighter again
It would be hard to be tougher than people think. I would be amazed if anyone thought this was a nailed on draw, never mind a win. We've lost our faith....let's hope the team regain theirs.
If he signs, it's simply got to be with the agreement that he'll do things the "Southampton Way" or whatever it's called. I like Koeman, no, I love Koeman, but I don't like the way he's handling things with the academy right now.
What ever happens in the Watford game get behind Our Ron take some pressure off him. Lets get the stability we all crave the rest will follow.........To the board I say get RK's signature and buy a couple of decent players quick!!
I am off the belief if we can beat Arsenal 4-0 at home then we can beat anyone..........hopefully the team matches the highs of Boxing Day and not the shoddy 2nd half display against Spurs.
I totally agree,to be fair though the majority of people who actually pay and go do tend to get behind the team.
Fran, I have read "two winnable games" quite a bit. All games are winnable, but we have two of the hardest teams to beat coming up.
Well that's proven to be bollocks. We've ONLY beaten Arsenal since November. I can't honestly see where our next win is coming from.
I can see Ighalo having fun against Fonte tbh. So if Guan is right(and I can't remember him ever being wrong). Then Ron has one game.
I'm very meh about this if its true. On one hand it is good that we are looking to bring some stability in by backing RK with a long term deal. On the other results have been crap the last couple of months and should we be looking to extend a managers deal when in this kind of form? If, say, we end up 16th or lower come the end of the season then would the majority of the fans still be behind RK? I think any contract talks should be being left until the end of the season and be sorted in the summer, the timing seems strange to me, despite our season being over.
