Facts are Bent is a goalscoring machine, and he IS irreplaceable for a club of our standing, so the changes are to take the focus away from one man.

Mensah unfortunately just lost it last season, started making mistakes and combined with the injuries, O'Shea is a much more dependable replacement.

Gardner is way superior to Jordan, Onouha of those you listed will be missed most, although he was good rather than great.

If we did get Zog, the thought of him, Sess and Gyan in the team, with Larssons delivery and Gardners work ethic, is a very exciting one indeed.

We are one flair player short, so if we don't get Zog, there may be an overload on Sess to create, which may hamper him.

Sess is just sensational, too good for us in all honesty!

very true but if nzogbia signs for us, it won't be for 10m imo, i think it will go to deadline day so he won't play in the derby

You think he'll cost more? Whelan can't seem to make his mind up. I can see this one going to the wire too.

It's not a done deal until it's a "done deal". We have had an interesting summer so far with supposed ITK's making transfer predictions turn in to certain signings. You have to remember, IF and it's a big If, zog has said this to whealan, then it make no difference to him. Villa have a 9 mil bid on the table so are obviously stupid enough to to buy him for that. It's been rejected. I don't think Sunderland will go anywhere near that price and if it comes down to it whealan will take the highest offer. Not saying he won't go to Sunderland but I'll be very surprised if he did considering villa's offer.

Also, this one could also run back in newcastle's direction if rumours of Wigan wanting routledge for 2.5 mil are true. Player plus cash deal????? Zog will go to dead line day I reckon, to the highest bidder.

i'm not saying it's a done deal jarra and it makes no difference if villa do match wigan's offer, if the player doesn't want to go then he won't go, like he didn't go to birmingham last season when they met the asking price, whelan may keep him until january or even the end of the season, but i can't see it

Who needs him when we have Marveaux, who could potentially be better if he adapts well?

I haven't seen enough of Sessegnon to judge in all honesty. I'm hoping it stays that way, atleast for the first couple of weeks of the season ;).

sessegnon is class mate, struggled a bit at 1st then came very good at the end of last season when he got up the pace of the premier league, he'll be a big hit next season and we'll struggle to keep hold of him imo, he'll probably be off to 1 of the sky 4 for big money

Well, you lot have had the pleasure of players like him, he's the first player in my 31 years that we've had that can bamboozle a defender with barely a twist, if you think of Jay Jay Okocha you're on the right lines.

He rarely looks at the ball, which is the sign of a natural footballer, i'm really excited for seeing him next season after a proper pre-season and having settled in, last season ended when he was just finding his feet in the league, our problem may be January, where if he performs as i'm hoping, some of the giants may well be taking a peek.

I hope to see him and Ben Arfa on the same pitch on the 20th, they did a load of mini adverts together for Nike Football France, just running at eachother and doing skills, worth looking up <ok>

I'm tired of the whole zog affair now like. Just wish he would go somewhere. I would have him back at Newcastle because I think he is a quality player but he isn't a priority for us so can fully understand why we have calmed interest in him. Another striker is top of the bill and we are waiting to see if Enrique drops us in the **** and will then have to replace him. It's not inconceivable that he could stay at Wigan and then have a pick of clubs next season, but not going on tour with Wigan seems like his days there are numbered. Fully expect him to be shipped out this window.

Sounds decent <ok>. I'll be sure to look up that advert. I don't know if either of you will have seen enough of Ben Arfa to judge but is he the same type as player, and could you say which is better?
