Anyone that thinks it's purely down to formations doesn't have a clue about managing people :)

    JOKE!

3 players that Lawrie would have hired to give everyone a lift would be Drogba, Ashley Cole and Glenn Johnson. These guys are winners and would put fire into the bellies of everyone around them.

And I don't completely disagree, but we don't have creative players at the moment. Mane is off the pace and frankly rubbish at the moment, Long isn't getting any service, and we don't have our number one striker, if we'd picked Seager and still lost, what would you say then? Our midfield was good and we created many more chances than them - Tintin, you're the god if statistics, how many shots did we and they have? As far as I saw, they scored with their first shot and I don't remember our goalie actually under pressure at any time. Their keeper made a world class save from Prowsey's free kick, he saved Romeu's shot and we hit the post. Plus we had so many more chanced and I thought we attacked well, but with low confidence. Palace set up to frustrate us and catch us on the break. That they did was due to our poor defensive play - not negativity.
Still, I guess the fans wouldn't be happy if we won 5-4 and gave 4 soft goals - or would they? I get the impression that some of you have forgotten a local club who spent a fortune buying players and paying huge salaries. They won the cup (hurrah!) and their fans were ecstatic. Where are they now?
Most of us long term fans realise that last year was an amazing year but this year was always going to be tough. Calling for the manager's head and wholesale changes is not going to help, but some of you want instant success. I've seen Saints through high and low and nothing will stop me supporting them. I have my views and respect the views of others, but I'm shocked sometimes by the stuff which gets thrown around here when we lose!

PS - clearly LTL doesn't know me that well! A gent? Ha ha - thanks pal! Reckon my exes would beg to differ!

Well said FLT. Ron as much as admitted that the problem is lack of confidence which leads to errors. In his Big Adam interview he also said that Palace played with confidence and as a result scored more goals. I do think Ron needs to sit down with the Board and sort out the future financial position so he can plan the squad going forward. As for goal scorers Ron confirmed Graziano will be back on Wednesday and JayRod at the end of the month. It is clear that he is struggling to get the team to feel good and that doesn't bode well. Maybe getting our scorers back will lift the team.

We should've won again, but didn't. Same old story: played well, dominated for large spells, but made silly mistakes and were punished. Palace were clinical, we weren't. Need some new blood.

No matter what the formation (I happen to understand why Ronal started with that line up) if you give the ball away like Yoshida did (and Romeu a couple of times before), you will get punished. Our luck is out, and we will get punished.

A couple of other negatives: Targett's crossing is an absolute embarrassing joke. Woeful, pitiful, pathetic, useless.
And get Fraser back in, please.

As I said before his crossing etc for the u21's is class. He is even our freekick taker and scored 2 this season. It's probably nerves or something.

Target is not currently a PL fullback. I agree his crossing was poor, also he looks lost in the final 1/3. We missed Bertrand.
Martina was poor, fonte was visibly pissed off with him at points.
Yoshida was poor, I felt he was only there because we had no vic in front of the defence and target at LB.
Romeu looked promising, more mobile than vic but does add bite to midfield. Don't get the classie love-in, don't really see what he is bringing. Is he one of these players who's work goes unnoticed.

Tin tin, serious question. How have you only got 1176 posts when you joined in 2012? Were you a lurker when the going was good?
