If that's the case surely Dyer would have stayed and Monk not lost the players whose form dipped almost instantly after his departure.

Well,it won't be the first "bloody day" that I've had around here. <laugh>

It's very interesting, although totally predictable,to note the distancing now taking place towards Monk, especially by those who took up early residence in his anal canal.
Some are now sounding as if they never wanted Monk as manager in the first place.
Alan Curtis is now the flavour of the month.
    Football supporters,eh,who needs them?

Watch your back,Alan. As will I.

Do you review other peoples' posts then deliberately say the opposite just to be controversial? Seems that way to me. Monk was sacked because of results and no scapegoating was involved. Prem managers are on fantastic money that most of us can only dream about and the flip-side is the price they pay if results don't go their way. Monk was given time to put it right - more than his predecessor ever was - but couldn't arrest the slide, thus paying the price. THAT'S what "everyone knows" so stop making **** up just to get a reaction.

Well in all honesty I don't remember anyone wanting Monk as first choice manager. If I'm wrong I apologise and feel free to prove me so.

I'm all for playing our strongest team , minus resent injured players (Rangel , Routledge , Fernandez and anyone else suffering a knock ) plus players we need to see or get up to speed ( Tabanou , Eder , Montero ,Amat , Shelvey ). Ki , Williams , Siggy , Barrow , Naughton , Cork should all be made available .Britton should also rest , the only knock on him is age and should be saved .

Monk's first game was against Cardiff,if my memory serves me right. A 3-0 scoreline made him an instant managerial hero, and it wasn't long before a group started heaping abuse, etc.,on Laudrup's memory.
No point in going through the subsequent history, but the pro Monk, anti Laudrup brigade made hay.
Now,things have somewhat changed, and Monk ain't the hero anymore.

Of course, opinions change over time, but it's the degree of change, coupled with the speed of transition, that often leaves me bemused and somewhat bewildered.
As a consequence, some people's opinions have little or no value. And even less credibility.

Big Sam has made 8 changes for the FA Cup match against Arsenal.

    The BBC writes

"Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford makes his Sunderland debut as Sam Allardyce makes eight changes. Duncan Watmore, Lee Cattermole and John O'Shea are the only players to retain their places in the side.

Sunderland XI: Pickford, van Aanholt, Cattermole, O'Shea, Lens, Graham, Toivonen, Coates, Fletcher, Yedlin, Watmore."
