For the 7th year running the Club are taking part in this U19 5-a-side tournament in Germany. You might remember that last year we sent a group of mostly 16 year olds who were top of their group in the first round, only to lose out in the next phase to Cologne and the eventual winners Austria Vienna. It’s a fairly prestigious affair and normally only sides from the top Leagues get invited, so it says a lot about how well we’ve handled ourselves in the past.

The squad this year is a mix of ages as manager Steve Wigley explained, “Although it’s an Under-19 tournament, and we tend to go with the youth team. There’s actually two tournaments on at the same time; we’ve got five or six of our squad going to [the Under-17 tournament in] Paderborn with Kevin Betsy because we felt that would give everybody the opportunity to play over the weekend, so that’s good. You tend to name 12 players for the day and you rotate the boys on and off”. The group travelling are:

Magnus Norman, Jake Soutter, Jerome Opoku, Aron Davies, Marlon Fossey, Elijah Adebayo, Anthony Dolan, Foday Nabay, Harrison Paton, Dennis Adeniran, Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson, Mattias Kait, Stephen Humphrys, Josh Walker

And the key dates and times are:

Thursday (7.30pm): Fulham v. JSG Hoher Hagen
Thursday (8.15pm): Fulham v. JFV West Gottingen
Friday (8.30pm): Fulham v. Borussia Monchengladbach
    Friday (9pm): Fulham v. I.SC Göttingen 05
Saturday (3.45pm): Fulham v. Hamburger SV
Saturday (5pm): Fulham v. JSG Hardegsen

Sunday - depends on how the previous days went.

It's fast and furious stuff with an enthusiastic crowd happily booing if you don't have a go. And all very strategic with the aim to outnumber the opposition players in the outfield and goalies diving off more than on the pitch. You can watch on a live stream via this link:

Think it does Doriley but it's like how it used to be watching Teletext (the scorers get flashed up on the small screen). Interesting in it's own way but disappointing not to actually see the games.

Stronger opposition in this game yet, and probably unfair to put it this way in a tournament of this kind, the lads threw away a 4-0 lead. Our scorers were: Dennis Adeniran, Josh Walker, Marlon Fossey and Stevie Humphrys.

Definitely fast and furious stuff as the lads were back up with nary a break and went two down. Great performance. The scorers were: Dennis Adeniran, Josh Walker x 2, that goalie again Magnus Norman and Marlon Fossey x 2.

    All set up for tomorrow.

Just when you need your keeper - score at 2-2 and he scores a beautie from his own half.

Close but this was the one the lads needed to win and stay at the top of the Group (Hamburger beat Munchengladback 5-0 earlier). Our scorers were:

Jerome Opoka (with his first of the tournament), Elijah Adebayo, Harrison Paton and Dennis Adebayo.

Unfortunately the lads went out in Phase 2 of the Sparkasse Cup. They lost 4-1 to Kopenhagen and 3-2 to Mainz.

Decent showing for the youngsters in an U19 tournament though and bound to have been a great experience for them.

Fantasic Doriley. Ryan Sessegnon is going to be some player; and goes without saying, Matt as well. Congratulations all round.

Cheers Ryan was outstanding and all the boys gee into the tournament
They do them really well over here
Over 4000 people watched the games live TV and great preparation for playing in hostile environments
Although saying that the crowd loved the boys. Technically we were a lot better it just took us a few games to suss out the tactics
Matt scored 3 and assisted 6 and learnt a lot but it's wrong to pick out anyone particular ji
Probably the youngest team there as we had 1 u15 and 4 u16's in the squad I think there is a website if you search m.scp07.de Google that I'm on a train do can't see the boys picture but if you follow dan Thomas on Twitter you can see
